In her 15 years long DJ-route, Miia Magia has been traveling from Britpop and Nu Disco to Deep House and Techno. DJing, organizing parties, and earning residencies at the legendary Helsinki clubs such as Semifinal, DTM and mBar made her a diverse and open-minded DJ. Alongside her own club nights, she's been invited to play for all the main cities in Finland and also to Tallinn, Valencia, and Madrid. On her way, she's been privileged to support her Finnish favorites, to name a few; Roberto Rodriguez and Milla Lehto.

Living and breathing the Stockholm scene between 2015 to 2019 made her dive even more into her own sound, best described as deep and moody to sharp and groovy. While playing at the underground raves and clubs, she was rewarded for supporting her favorite artists such as Axel Boman, Benjamin Mull, Cari Lekebusch, and DJ Hell.

Moving back to her roots in Helsinki for the new decade, she focused on producing music and running her own club & podcast concept, Motto. The latest addition to that is a label, Motto Sono, run together with Mr. Barth, where her first official release, "En Route" was released in May 2020.

Minimal Rhythms:

Minimal Rhythms is a channel for DJ sets mixed live in front of the camera. The purpose is to showcase local DJs from the vibrant underground scene of Helsinki and have a peek at their record collections.

A new DJ mix is streamed live every Wednesday at 7 pm (UTC+2) via an internet radio station - Komrad Radio (komrad.live/). Minimal Rhythms is operated from Helsinki, Finland.

Her musical journey took her through 90’s UK alternative rock and 00’s Nu Disco and House, finally arriving into today’s classic Deep House and Techno.

Living and breathing the Stockholm underground club and rave scene between 2015-2019 refined her skills as a DJ and ignited the start of her own label Motto Sono with Mr. Barth (aka. Cari Lekebusch). Miia best describes her own style of playing as “deep and moody, sharp and groovy”. Today we have a very special NY gift with some unreleased tracks.

DJ and producer Bjarnar Jonsson aka Ohm (@ohm-599575574) is one of the leading figures in the Icelandic contemporary techno scene. Widely associated with iconic labels such as @thule-records, @achim-szepanski, @rawax-chiwax-housewax, @luckofaccess , @tapedartifact, @kontacthelsinki and @allinnrecords !

Ohm stays true to his roots by consistently innovating his interpretation of techno music, intergrating soul and innovation with the scene. 

The #Copenhagen - based artist was born and raised in #Reykjavik, #Iceland, and caught the music bug early on. In 1999 his debut release, a collaboration with the Icelandic techno legend @exos, was released on Force Inc and was critically acclaimed. Since then he has been a constant source of techno anthems – most recently releasing his works on Thule Records, Rawax,Taped artifact, AE records, @xozmusic, @solid-groove-records and Kontakt records – and working with veterans such as @octalindustries and his long time collaborator @exos, and now recently with @kvadrant, label boss of Kontakt records and host of the legendary Tweak fm shows. He has been a regular guest at the legendary techno club Culture Box in Copenhagen – alongside frequently performing in his native country. 

Because of Ohm’s unique style, it’s hard to label his music but you can definitely hear influences from Detroit tunes, dub and of course classic minimal techno. He tries hard not to be limited to any specific formulas and manages in that way to successfully create his own distinctive sound. Constantly evolving his production skills and questioning the things around him. Ohm seeks to inspire his listeners with sounds both reduced and rough, balanced by emotional and surprising moments throughout his sets. Between pure techno, banging dub techno tracks, tracks old and new, Ohm communicates his message with an apparent effortlessness.

Sunju Hargun is of multi-cultural upbringing – born and raised in Thailand but drawing on Indian and Japanese roots. The mixture of different backgrounds has led him to create a layered web of unique sounds which takes heavy influence from the mood of 90s raw and tripped-out trance, deep breaks and extraterrestrial tribalism. He’s been part of the regional music scene for over 15 years, touring heavy across Asia Pacific and releasing music on various outputs. Uncontrolled by genre or tempo limitations- his sound is shaped by early years spent on the dancefloors for long hours in shanghai as a pure raver at heart.

Living and breathing the Stockholm underground club and rave scene between 2015-2019 refined her skills as a DJ and ignited the start of her own label with Mr. Barth (aka. Cari Lekebusch). Motto Sono Records is now actively and comprehensively representing art and deep emotional grooves for the demanding DJ and audience with the motto "the only good system is a sound system”.
