ARISE ABOVE is the first single from Kreidler's upcoming album SPELLS AND DAUBS (to be released in January 2022 on Bureau B).

A soaring synthesiser starts the drum beat, the bass kicks in, and the rhythmic framework is ensnared by a netting of enchanted melodies.
The ha-ha-ha of a synthetic voice accompanies us through the song, which ends in an Eve Future like theme on the piano.

Mixed by Peter Walsh (Heaven 17, Scott Walker, FKA Twigs), ARISE ABOVE is a piece of euphoric pop melancholy.

Re-issue of A Thunder Orchestra's 'Shall I Do It?', a haunting yet beautiful slice of hypnotic proto techno from the vaults of the rich eighties Belgian new beat / synth wave / EBM noir scene, written and recorded by Dirk Desaever (aka Danton's Voice & White House White) in 1985 and released on a handful of cassette tapes only. Re-discovered by Walhalla records and included on their 'Underground Wave Volume 4' compilation in 2014, now re-mastered and available on 12'' format for the first time ever. Things started to move when label boss Paul du Lac heard this gem being played by Germany's finest, Mick Wills, in one of his trademark epic dj-sets, with the pounding drums, haunting synths and the eerie kid's voice making him fall in love at the spot. It turned out Mick didn't play the original, but, like so often, his own re-edited version: slightly pitched, extended and re-constructed in an utterly brilliant way, perfectly suiting the darkest hours of the night. Eventually, intrigued as the label was with the song and being a big fan of mr. Will's editing craftsmanship, one thing led to the other, and Bio Rhythm is now proud to officially present the original A Thunder Orchestra's 'Shall I Do It?' in the full glory it deserves, including two reconstructed versions by Mick Wills, one that starts with the intro just like the original and a special beat version for even more convenient dj use. We’re honored to announce an exquisite double LP release by obscure Japanese artist Tomo Akikawabaya. As long time admirers of Akikawabaya’s 1980s releases on his own label Castle Records, we had attempted to reach him for many years without any luck. Finally at some point in 2014, a conversation was struck and one thing lead to the next. It was through Nao Katafuchi that we finally made contact with the legend himself, and began speaking about the proposed release idea. It turned out that the admiration was mutual, which was surprising as we thought Akikawabaya had disappeared completely. After working through the track selection and artwork ideas, we came up with the release plan. We’re very excited to present this double LP entitled The Invitation of The Dead. The collection of songs include the entirety of both The Castle (1984) and Anju (1985) releases, all newly remastered. They sound fresher and stronger than ever before, exactly as the artist had intended them to sound when he recorded them 30 years ago. The songs that span this double LP are personal and unique; they are dark synthpop gems. The artist still remains a mystery, as does his relationship to the model Rena Anju featured on this and all but one of his album covers (Kojiki to Onna). The Invitation of The Dead double LP is a limited edition of 999 copies. The first 300 copies will be pressed on 160 gram black vinyl with white haze for the A/B sides and white vinyl with black haze for the C/D sides, and the remainder will be pressed on 160 gram black vinyl for the A/B sides and white vinyl for the C/D sides. The double LP will be presented in a gatefold sleeve designed by Peter Miles featuring cover photo by Alao Yokogi. The release will be available in late September.

Knotpop is a revelatory lost album of deviant new wave from San Fransisco duo Ixna. Like Brian Eno and The Flying Lizards, the album is a sideways and inverted take on pop music. Jay Cloidt and Marina La Palma were students of David Behrman and Robert Ashley at Mills College, inspired by their infamously irreverent faculty to nudge the avant-garde out of its stuffy tweed and into something more exciting, something clad in denim & leather. Recorded at the Center For Contemporary Music at Mills in 1981, the album combines Cloidt's studio wizardry, sampling abilities and vibrant bass with La Palma’s expressive vocals, and love of made-up and invented languages (Esperanto). Ixna only released one 7" during that time, featuring two songs from this unrealized album, which became sought after over the decades. The discovery of Knotpop will feel like manna from heaven for previous fans, and a welcome addition to the cannon of avant-inverted-pop ur-classics by Suicide, impLOG, Naffi, General Strike, Thick Pigeon and UnknownMix. Concentric Circles is honoured to present Knotpop to the world for the first time. Mastered from the original reels, DMM pressing.
