Science Fiction House Music

HISKIA is a producer of electronic dance music. Music is presented via releases and live acts.

Born in 1976, HISKIA has been into music for more than thirty years. Beginning with pre-school music education and playing xylophone, he learned to play recorder (wooden flute) and cello, although he quit it at the age of eleven.
So his further musically activities were limited to recording music from radio, at which his two favourite styles were clear right from the start: Music with synthesizers (Vangelis, OMD, Bronski Beat, …) and music with electric guitars (first U2 and other 80ies rock bands, then, from 1988, mostly metalbands like Metallica and Slayer). Getting more in contact with the extreme metal underground, he understandably stopped recording tapes from the radio, began to buy records and let his hair grow, before he fell in love to electronic music again in 1992 due to Cosmic Baby, The Prodigy and legions of unknown breakbeat-producers.
For the following years he lived a typical 90ies-Techno-livestyle before he got in contact with a roland groovebox in 1997/1998. Fascinated by the possibilities of making his own music, he got more and more deeper in it, although the first activities were limited to recording live sets on tape and CD.
After playing live with his mate Jakob Jung (now also releasing at Electrogravity Records) under changing names, both founded a more serious project called „Schützt Eure Kinder“ alias „SEK“ in 2006, that released some liverecordings in the underground and played live with Artists like Tok Tok, Skinnerbox, Felix Kröcher and many more.
SEK were weaved into Feydh Rotans and Denes` label Electrogravity Records right from the beginning. After some releases SEK split in 2011 and Jakob Jung started to work solo, while HISKIA retired from presenting his music for one and a half year, before he released the „Lunaris“-EP in January 2013 and the track „Minora“ (split-release with Jakob Jung) one month later under the name HISKIA (also on Electrogravitiy Records).
The first HISKIA liveact took also place in January 2013, the second will take place in April 2013. While Jakob Jung has developed the old SEK-Style (a mix between Techno and Electro) more into straight Techno, HISKIA`s style went more into House, so that his music could be described as a combination of Neotrance, Minimal and Deep House.
