Artist Introductions:
You will be entering the world of Throw Away Sounds, a music enthusiast who journeyed through hip-hop and alternative vibes before diving into the electronic scene. Moving from hip-hop head-bobbers to alternative rebellious tunes, Throw Away Sounds eventually found their groove in electronic music, turning synths and beats into a dynamic playground. 
It's not about creating music; it's a laid-back exploration of sounds. Most recently, he has been into Drum and Bass & even produced a Liquid Drum and Bass song. A blend of past influences and futuristic beats, Throw Away Sounds welcomes you to join a relaxed and enjoyable sonic adventure.

Episode #018 and we are here to explore the sounds from across the pond. UK Garage. 

For those of you not familiar - UK garage, also known as UKG, is a genre of electronic dance music that originated in England in the early 1990s. It was inspired by garage house and incorporates elements from dance-pop, R&B, and jungle. The genre is defined by percussive, shuffled rhythms with syncopated hi-hats, cymbals, and snares, and may include either 4/4 house kick patterns or more irregular “2-step” rhythms.UK garage encompassed subgenres such as speed garage and 2-step and was then largely subsumed into other styles of music and production in the mid-2000s, including bassline, grime, and dubstep. 

UK Garage, “treads the line between delicate and dirty, soulful and skank-inspiring” - today we have plenty of it. So, sit back and relax as we dive into a full timeline of UKG.

Introduction:
For Episode 022 we have quite the bite ahead, as we dive into the sub-world of Electro music and what makes this genre such a staple to this day. I will resurface some of the Electro greats including: Soulwax, Digitalism, Mumbai Science, The Bloody Beetroots, and Proxy. 

Genre Characteristics: 
The significance of this genre is built into its characteristics. Born of funk, hip-hop, disco, and synth-pop, Electro typically makes heavy use of sine waves, offbeat rhythms, and a relatively fast tempo. Electro is typically faster than House music and features more aggressive basslines. This aggressive nature is emphasized by the distorted/industrial drum, particularly the iconic Roland TR-808. The tapping beats, handclaps/clicks, and keyboard basslines of this genre provides its strong hold on the scene since the 1980s.

A great deal of research thanks is given to Dr. Lektroluv on this episode's track selections. His iconic, Elektrik World compilations help curate the sounds ahead. Little bit about him...
•	Dr. Lektroluv is known for wearing a distinctive green mask that conceals his identity. His masked persona adds an air of intrigue and playfulness to his performances.
•	As a DJ and producer, Dr. Lektroluv has been at the forefront of the electro movement for over 15 years. Hailing from Belgium, he has left an indelible mark on the global electronic music scene.
•	Elektrik World: Dr. Lektroluv presents “Elektrik World”, a deluxe box set CD compilation featuring essential electro classics. This collection includes tracks from renowned artists such as Miss Kittin & The Hacker, Vitalic, Tiga, and more. It’s a treasure trove of golden electro hits 1.

At the start of her journey (2021-22), backyard gatherings were the norm for her circle, where friends took turns bringing over mixers, which in turn piqued shannnnoonnnn’s interest in mixing. At the start of her run, she primarily played at house parties and small events, but has found a larger platform in her current dwelling. After moving to Tucson, she quickly found her people when she sent a mix to the Visionary House Collective (https://www.instagram.com/visionary_house_market/) to showcase her sound in an upcoming Festival. Now, she offers her selections for a variety of festivals and events as a part of the Visionary House crew, which prides itself in bringing a unique music culture to the funky city of Tucson and surrounding cities.
