The sixth album by Emile Facey under the Plant43 moniker and the seventh release on his Plant43 Recordings imprint since its inception in 2020, Sublunar Tides is his most expressive and stylistically wide ranging to date. Over 52 minutes and nine tracks the album takes the listener on a journey through dancefloor electro, meditative experimental synth improvisations, cosmic techno and the powerful emotional album closer ‘Tides Align’.

The album finds Plant43 in a world that exists between the English countryside he now lives in and the live club and gig culture that he has been separated from due to ongoing covid-19 pandemic. He draws on his feelings of missing the city and the vibrant energy of its club's spaces, feeling in the middle of this headspace and the peace and meditative nature of his home.

“Having moved to the countryside in 2019, the music on Sublunar Tides is equally inspired by the natural surroundings I’m lucky enough to live in but also a longing to return to the city and live gig/club culture. It’s been 20 years since I started making music and I found myself going back to the things that originally sparked my love of it - original 80’s electro, breakdancing and body popping.

“While the last year and a half has been extremely challenging in many ways I am incredibly grateful for the support people have shown me and the success of the label is truly heartwarming. Growing up I was inspired to create music, art and film and so building a space that can act as an output for all these things is a dream come true. The album marks 15 years of Plant43 releases and I feel very blessed to be able to spend my days expressing myself and exploring the depths of my machines.” - Plant43

Since launching Plant43 Recordings in 2020 as the pandemic gripped the world and performance opportunities fell away Emile has found the support of his followers and the platform of Bandcamp to be a lifeline. , pack a punch with three chest rattling tracks making up Ruff EP.

Hyper two-step underpins ‘Trust Me’, a stuttering unconventional bassline stinker which sets a tone of unpredictability. The high octane breaks that explode from ‘Ruff (Hyper Mix)’ catch the listener equally off-guard, Ripgroove-style drop added for good measure. ‘Jumpin’ feels minimalist in comparison, with just hints of a thunderous sub-bass for tension building heads-down business.
