“Whisper” is Aural Trace´s latest production, a 2-original track EP which gathers all the good things we love about the Berlin-based musician: Synth waves infused with powerful bass lines, upbeat percussive elements and that melancholia touch toying with our feelings and emotional boundaries that get us have his music on repeat.

Originally from Chile and now a resident of Berlin, Manuel Ortuzar, aka Aural Trace, is not a new-comer in the scene, with releases on Ombral INTL, Bordello A Parigi, Melopée Records, Play Pal Music, Melodize, Logical Records, as well as his own label Odd Pleasures he co-founded with Max Ferrer, his binom of their common project Random Atlas. At Thisbe, we are delighted to welcome him and his new EP among the label´s catalogue.

With “Whisper”, Aural Trace delivers another well-crafted EP, highlighting his mastery in music production, being also a mixing and mastering engineering by day.

The EP is completed by remixes by Rambal Cochet and Pyrame: Rambal Cochet takes the Goa Breaks route to produce a mix that drives the listener into an enigmatic self-reflective trip, while Pyrame brings the introspective voyage from the original mix into another side of our sub-conscience.

Aural trace is the solo project of Berlin-based Chilean musician and producer Manuel Ortuzar, half of @RandomAtlas duo and co-founder of the record label @odd-pleasures. His signature driving and emotional sound finds a way to always present itself seamlessly blending influences from New Beat, Post Punk, Italo Disco and Techno resulting in energetic, dark and introspective music, combined with uplifting cinematic soundscapes.

He has released on labels such as Ombra INTL, Bordello A Parigi, Mélopée Records, Play Pal Music, Melodize, Logical Records, ODD Pleasures, Discoteca Negra and Thisbe Recordings, with more to come.

I am breathing electronic music since late 70s and that's over 45 years now. From Kraftwerk, Jean Michel Jarre, Mike Oldfield, Depeche Mode, Erasure, Yazoo, Alphaville, Men without Hats, Nitzer Ebb, Die Krupps, Front 242, Anne Clark, Camouflage, Gary Numan, OMD, Apopytygma Berzerk and even the Commodore 64 demo & break dance scene to more contemporary Electronic music artists, I witnessed the evolution of Electronic music, which basically means I am an old fart and consider myself an authority in this music genre 😵 Currently I listen DnB almost exclusively. But I do not like to restrict myself at all, enjoying flavors like Electronica, Trance, Psytrance, Tech House, Dubstep, Deep House, Future Pop, Trap, Techno, UK Bass and of course EBM/Industrial as well.

What you will find in my likes and playlists is the top of the crop in Electronic Music, I will  absolutely not list any bullshit. A track I have not listed might be just that: Bullshit, just mediocre or an artistic gem which I haven't discovered yet.

Extended bio: 
Physicist turned music and record producer, Berlin-based Pyrame’s emergence into the electronic music scene is a story of wanderlust, dream catching and cosmic energy. A poet at heart, he takes the opportunity to create raw emotion through both his melodies and lyrics, when if you listen closely, are inspired by his endless adventures of the world around him.

Combining elements of synth-pop, post-punk and progressive electro, his DJ affair of building both his sound and his label contains a touch of surrealism, heritage and fantasy, as his inspiration is pulled from the twists and turns of Greek Mythology. His record label, appropriately named Thisbe Recordings, comes from the myth of “Pyramus and Thisbe” which are most well known as the couple of ill-fated lovers by the ancient poet Ovid.

Over the years, Pyrame has produced several mixes - "The Pace of Everything that Lives", "Electronica Melancholia", "Senses High" - and has been remixed by influential producers such as Arnaud Rebotini, Inigo Vontier, Acid Washed, Theus Mago, Local Suicide, Skelesys, La Mverte, Semodi and many more. More recently, Pyrame immersed himself into techno by exploring sub-genres such as tribal slow techno with Radial Gaze with their collab EP "Voodooridoo" and leftfield deep techno with Andrey Sirotkin and their collab EP "Untouchable".

Expect more from Pyrame in 2025, as the year unfolds and several busting releases are already  lined up both on his label´s front as well as with his own music. This, keeping faithful to his vision of staying indie and in the underground.
