On Heroes After Dark we get Biesmans at his finest, with three funky original cuts plus a rework from the one and only Gerd Janson...

The Gerd Janson remix pumps the original track with plenty of energy. Gerd ups the tempo while maintaining the emotive nature of Biesmans’ original. This is guaranteed to uplift the dance floor at peak time, with punchy beats, sprightly effects and a morose bassline - plus the robotic vocals, which are bound to spark singalongs from the crowd.

Katermukke is more than proud to present VALENTIN, Dan Bay & Le Rubrique with their absolutely amazing debut EP “Wir sind Kinder” 

"Wir sind Kinder" is a hymn to freedom for all people without the support and acceptance of the majority of society who still have to fight every day to be who they are and to be able to love who they want.  However the track doesn't bear witness to complaints, the track bears witness to hope. “We are children - and we are many of them”.

Lyrically as well as musically, the downtempo piece does a balancing act between lightness and drama - like the soundtrack of a dream. A minimalist electronic beat to dramatic tuba and harpsichord. 

The accompanying remix by Niconé expresses nothing less than the basic essence of the track: "We fly when we dance. I am everything you are."

"Mädchen im Mond" is a classic love song: it's about long nights, seduction, attraction and togetherness. The fact that it is deliberately a love story between two women is not intended as a sales argument, but as a reflection of the reality of the environment around the singer VALENTIN. 

It's the soundtrack of a dream come true, blurring the lines of memory and hope. The whole piece is based on just one note of a kalimba. Beginning with organic sounds, the piece's dramaturgy culminates in a bass-heavy club sound that disappears into nothingness and leads back to the source. 

Dirty Doering himself created a remix for this piece, which catapults the listener into an ecstatic game of rapprochement.

French artist Back From The Wave joins Roam Recordings with two original hypnotic burners. The EP starts with Brothers which builds with lush pads and gritty sythwork. Mother's Mind takes a more reflective approach and continues to build the trance inducing journey of the EP. The EP is backed by remixes from French compatriot Endrik Schroeder and Roam alumni Rigopolar. Endrik Schroeder is up first with his dreamy and melodic take on Brothers. Rigopolar rounds out the EP with a laid back version of Mother's Mind with beautiful vocoder work accentuating the mellow vibes.

The latest addition of Roam Recordings offers three stunning remixes of Berlin based 80s New Wave inspired band Pardon Moi. Following the success of their singles “Addiction” on Emerald & Doreen Recordings and “Inside the Outside” on Nein (which has been featured on BBC Radio) the Berlin duo Pardon Moi consisting of Thomas Freudenthal and James Brook have penned the evocative “Power to the People” along with “Touch2Much” which have been released in original form on 7” vinyl from Hoga Nord Rekords. In the “Power to the People Remixes” EP, Roam Recordings has gathered together a dream team of top remixers - Damon Jee, Markus Gibb, and Curses - who each put their own spin on the originals. Damon Jee starts it out with an an energetic and anthemic version of Power to the People that’s sure to get people on their feet. Markus Gibb moves Power to the People into slightly darker and heavier territory with exquisite production that has become his trademark. Switching gears, Curses takes on Touch2Much and keeps the 80s vibe alive with a stylish upbeat dub that’s both quirky and fun.

All three of these remixes come together in an action packed trio of tracks that will surely be a go to when looking to get the dance floor movin’.

2020 and Bordello A Parigi are hitting the ground running with new music. Hypnotique is the newly minted moniker of synthesizer star Sergio Mesa (IAMNOTAROBOT) and David Jornet alongside the mellifluous vocals of Maia J. This debut is centred around one very special track, La Pénombre. A steady kick introduces the piece, Maia’s words circling the rumbling rhythms. Vocoder breathes, care of Jornet, steady the percussion before bright and bold keys strike. The optimism of those notes is balanced by the lyrics, heartfelt and pierced with a romance laden lament to produce a simply sublime piece of synth wave. The flip is occupied, in true maxi single style, by the instrumental version. Those incandescent chords take centre stage and are given space to radiant their warmth as snares support in this brilliantly joyful work.

Enduro Disco strikes back with another distinctively different slice of electronic joy for Exploited. A cute Bollywood-reminiscent female vocal sample provides the colourful centrepiece of ‘Ciao’, where filtered, sidechained orchestral strings pulse beneath saccharine synth melody and heady FX and percussion conversations. A lazy bass groove combines with the optimistic melodies to create a dreamy, summery feel that has the innocence of childhood about it. The track builds brilliantly through shimmering percussion and fizzing chords to the most blissed-out and chilled of crescendos.
Biesmans pushes the button marked ‘Full Italo’ and sets the feel-good dial to ‘11’ on his spunky remix, pitching wiggling bass arpeggios against triumphant chords, deft ‘80s drums and spine-tingling melody. Set in this context, the vocal becomes a triumphant battle cry, and the layer upon layer of gorgeous synth magic propels the track into fist-pumping, joyous echelons.
Johannes Albert goes into a deeper disco place, lacing the languid original with flecks of gentle acidic bubbling and playful melodies. Big snare hits add a little weight to the warmth of the melodic parts, all in all making for another perfect summer jam. Instrumentals are provided to use at your discretion.
