We’re thrilled to welcome Chicago’s Rez Dosia to Obscura for his first feature length project - The Abstrakt Lover EP. With a feature selection on the recent Jimi Jules Essential Mix, Rez is on the rise as the summer season kicks into gear.

The project’s namesake and A-side Abstrakt Lover brings crisp acidic tones and tripped out vocal chops, creating bespoke dancefloor moments. Lights Out & Apache Plume bring a low-slung minimal vibe, keeping the groove tight while allowing punchy drum programming to catch the ear. Atacama welcomes floating melodies to lighten the mood, before Black Reflections sends us back into the deep with an ominous analog arrangement brimming with late night flavor. Closure wraps up the projects with an elongated break welcoming signature dancefloor moments.

Ede is a hypnotist.
No for real - this is not just a cool figure of speech to make you interested in this record. He actually learned the art and science of hypnotizing people, connecting you with the deepest parts of your subconscious to make desirable changes in your life.
This is also kind of what these tracks did for us the first time we heard them. Putting us in a deep and blissful state of trance and making our lives better.
First, we have Buzzing, which does just what it says: buzzing like a bee trapped in a honey jar. Full of restraint, always teasing, but ready to explode at any minute.
Next comes Rave Code, which again does just what it says: giving you the code to the rave. One of the ballsiest beats we heard in forever, mixed with extra-hard hands in the air rave signals.
Auggie's remix takes Rave Code up a notch. Expertly twisted and mangled, with a lot of room to breathe and an absolutely insane break, this one is for the peak-time floors.
Aera's reduction of the remix basically just trims the fat and makes things a little bit easier to digest.
This time, the artwork is provided by LiorHZ, who has recently made some waves with amazing artworks for a whole bunch of labels we love.

When We Dip XYZ presents the ‘Swim In Memories' EP from producers Presia and Roo. Presia has released on respected imprints such as Isolate, microCastle & Moodmusic, crafting high-quality cuts under his very own ‘Grunge House' sub-genre. Roo stormed the scene recently with a collaboration on Samer Soltan's Sanctuary Music, which was remixed by Marcus Worgull. He's also brought some of the most interesting artists in the scene to his hometown of Amman, Jordan, under the Vudu and U Roof brands.

On the eponymous ‘Swim In Memories', subtle chords match the soothing vocals from Presia speaking of healing one's soul through calming the mind. The arp and horn-like pluck rise in intensity as they lead the way through the electronic ballad.

‘Cut' showcases a sharp jump in energy as ethereal vocal chops and the ‘Cut' ad-lib rest on a sharp snare and bulky kick. The table is set for Presia who delivers a spirited guitar solo straight from the hip.

‘Until It Breaks' conveys a melancholic feel as the breakbeat groove and saturated bass is complemented by the evolving pads, arps and textures.

On the final track, the post-rock induced ‘Guelai', a robotic voice narrates its poetry through the industrial textures, watery glitches and risers.
