When I first heard "Fred again.." and looked into his tunes, I resonated so strongly with how he used music to convey memories and real life. It only took one listen of "Turn On The Lights again.." before the remix idea popped into my head. Since then, there's been no slowing down on making the track and visuals!

In the 3/4 of this tune, Fred talks about this imposter syndrome of not being capable of writing certain emotions based on life experience. This is something I faced countless times, and it only became apparent after going though a significantly dark time in life that I've always been capable of being who I want to be. I never had to go through that rough patch and neither do you. Now working on my upcoming album/project, I've never felt more connected and real with my music. Stoked to share and wanted to give you all a glimpse of what I've been preparing through this remix!

Reunion

As a kid of the 80s, Kay-Chi started an early musical journey influenced by John Carpenter’s Escape From New York. Years later, precisely this movie was the inspiration for the songs compiled on the „Brighter Shadows“ EP. While watching it again in his studio, he played along on his synthesizers and wrote new music, his very own music, for it. This has been an unfulfilled wish since his childhood that now came true with this great release.

The challenges Brandski sets, was to merge his broad influences from Disco, EBM and Electro in a united work. He perfectly matches theses vintage fields to more contemporary and future territories. Like an orchestra conductor, he develops melodics rises, supported by chords on top on cutted bass line.
The whole package is made to drive the listener on his journey, from calm and mental songs to brute and dancefloor patterns. To use the words of the artist : “the purpose of the album is to carry the listener, from a point to another, from introspection to self-surrender.”
We are also happy to have Austher on board, another incredible french artist ! He joins Brandski on the track « Disco Dance » and give it a melodic touch !

Boutique imprint Ritual Release announce their upcoming release "Making It Right", a collaborative effort between indie dance artist Woolfy and the producer Love Athletics. Scheduled for release on May 28, 2024, this record is an ambitious synthesis of classic new wave/goth anthems, channelling the spirits of New Order, Depeche Mode, and The Killers with modern sonics and Disco savant twist.

The original "Making It Right" sets the theme with dark, chuggy Disco vibes, Woolfy’s vocals echo the haunting tones of Peter Murphy and Ian Curtis with lyrics that hold the complexities of love and romanticism, drawing parallels between its cyclical nature and the constant rotation of the world. Closing the record Boys' Shorts inject a more beat focussed sound, tighter and more dancefloor oriented whilst keeping the nostalgic essence of the original in their mix and dub.
