Exclusive: Superpitcher - Lush Life feat. Fantastic Twins

He’s back. He’s back with some lush music. He’s back with his Lush Life single. Aksel Schaufler alias Superpitcher, a Kompakt mainstay, the co-label head of Hippie Dance, one part of the Pachanga Boys and known as the ambassador of the golden rave days, debuts on the Live At Robert Johnson label with a two tracker as golden as the twelve ravey chapters he’s put out on his own label. Lush Life, the EP’s eponymous track, features French-Berliner Fantastic Twins’ for the vocals, and comes in as Superpitcher-esque on the one hand and quite different on the other. The almost ten minute lasting track is probably a typical Superpitcher feature, what is new though, is the selection of sounds and the result in general. Aksel created an utterly atmospheric take, which flows by as fast as the rave-days, and takes its listeners back to the days when Francois K delivered dubby House music takes per excellence, just like Superpitcher does now himself. Peaceful almost spiritual and endearing are traits that describe the emotional components the track evokes in its listeners with a Julienne Dessagne, Fantastic Twins real name, delivering those charming vocals that hunt you through the night and over the floors.

Superpitcher's single Lush Life will be released on Live At Robert Johnson on February 18th, 2022.

The Swedish producer ,who already released works for Aniara, Bear Funk, Solar Disco or his own imprint "The Free Spirit Society" , comes back to his early Disco sound delivering "Here Comes Greenslade", a track equally influenced by the Balearic Sound and House Music. A nine minutes journey where guitars and synths join together in order to deliver a perfect sunrise/sunset, and where the memories of the Ibiza's Summer of love are touchables. On the B-Side, "Here Comes Greenslade" turns darker with 2 superb remixes. I’m a Cliché is proud to present Red Axes’ second release on the label, a few months after their ‘Tour de Chile’ EP. ‘1970’ EP is composed of three new original tracks by the exciting duo from Tel Aviv. These three rays of light in the batcave confirm what stroke label’s head Cosmo Vitelli most in the first place: their talent in smartly winking at dance music history while integrating all the codes of modern production.

1. “1970”, the title track, is a dance ballade with an obvious touch of Balearic. Mixing images of soap-ad kids and fighter planes in the video made to it is like mixing lightness and darkness in their music: very natural after all.

2. “Walk Alone” provides further evidence of this combination: the brisk piece of techno seems a hopping walk through sunny lands at the edge of a ravine.

3. “Joseph Cookies” samples a masterpiece from New German Wave band Malaria and, while keeping the punk flavour, turns it into a slow anthem for captivated dancers.

Additional background about Red Axes:

Red Axes is a project created by Tel-Aviv based producers and DJs Dori Sadovnik and Niv Arzi. 
The duo has been performing together for over 6 years, first as members of the new wave / post punk band Red Cotton. After living in Amsterdam and traveling in Europe, the guys returned to Tel-Aviv and began an underground psychedelic electronic party series called "Break It!". 
In 2009, they established a new vision and concept for all of their artistic endeavors - focusing on house, disco and techno. Several Red Axes EPs came out  between 2009 and 2011, on Statra Recordings and Klasse Recordings. 
2012 started with “Tour de Chile” EP on I’m a Cliché and continues with an other EP on the same label, “1970”, in addition to remixes and original tracks for La Belle or Clouded Vision. Their work in editing masterpieces and live-performing helped them push their boundaries both as DJs and as producers. 
In the Tel Aviv night scene they were booked to play alongside Luciano, Richie Hawtin, Pilooski, just to name a few... Playing in Tokyo in summer 2012 was a step further towards transcontinental recognition.

After a relatively quiet 2018, 2019 has seen Craig Bratley back on form with edits and remixes on Magic Wand, Secret Fusion, Wonder Stories and Rebirth. This first release on new label Automatism sees Bratley continue to develop the Space themes presented on his ep for Futureboogie.

Our introductory pick for 2020 is a compilation from the French studio addict “@Yuksek” who has redefined the realms of disco and synth-pop with his productions and through his imprint “Party fine”. His love for NewYork scene and French electronic music led him to collaborate with an array of iconic artists such as Moby, JD Samson, Gorillaz to name a few. 

This 5th chapter of an exclusive compilation containing unreleased tracks from new members such as Dimitri from Paris, Jean Tonique, Dombrance offers a smooth blend of Party fine’s aesthetic and euphoria. 

Our personal pick from this compilation is “The Other Day” by Getaroom! (@getaroomofficial) who joins forces with “Chloe" from C.A.R (@c_a_r), whose eclectic vocals transcends the realms of disco. This track is a statement that “Disco” is a subjective genre and it has always been difficult to see the boundaries of the movement and all the influences it has ever had or will have on the electronic scene.
