The only constant in Morta Mor’s word is change, not only in terms of lifestyle but also in terms of music selection. Musically raised by Berlin’s club and festival culture, Morta further draws inspiration from her nomadic lifestyle, which results in trippy genre-bending eclectic curations as she is constantly on the lookout for strange groovy sounds, weird vocal loops, captivating beats and twisted percussions. 

Beyond music itself, Morta Mor is on a mission to bring inclusion and diversity to electronic music dance floors by attempting to represent more female, queer and POC productions in her DJ sets.

Morta Mor isn’t new to electronic music despite being a newcomer to DJing - she has been part of the scene for the past 10 years as a professional party and festival goer, curator, producer and promoter. She has brought holistic & artistic experiences to festivals like Garbicz Festival, Moyn Moyn Festival, The Imaginarium and organised events in locations such as Berlin, Paris, Los Angeles, Tulum and Vilnius, among many others.

Exzellent abgemischt ergibt das ganze einen groovigen Kick, der uns das Wohnzimmer zum Dancefloor werden lässt. Token from Berlin, currently living in Bonn, perfectly kicks off September with mix number 011, giving us a sunny vibe that keeps the summer going strong. This wonderfully curated tracklist offers a variety of house music, seasoned with a touch of gritty minimal and a few breakbeat nuances. With his excellent mixing, it all comes together to a groovy vibe that turns our living room into a dance floor. His original productions range from the jaw-droppingly original (It’s a Fine Line – Woman), to the heartbreakingly sublime (Tim Paris – Outback, Stones & Vinyl), and his remixes (the XX; Silicone Soul; Salif Keita; Telepop Musik) reflect his unique musical position.  Tim’s label, Marketing Music, has quietly gone about releasing some of the most innovative and gloriously confounding electronic house music of the past decade, and his collaboration with ex Black Strobe bohemian Ivan Smagghe, It’s a Fine Line, has borne fruit, after juicy fruit. Dancers, his first full-length release, was signed by Canadian label My Favorite Robot and is an astonishing piece of work. Switching effortlessly from metallic electro purring, to slack-jawed new-wave disco, to shimmering, bewitching, house, it marks a new high point in a career rammed full of them.
