What’s 2 m tall, lives Behind the Iron Curtain, has 1605 reasons to run an awesome label, and flies? Meet UMEK, a techno legend from Slovenia.

UMEK is personally responsible for kickstarting the electronic music scene in his home country by first organizing illegal raves and then becoming one of Slovenia’s most wanted export products and the number one music ambassador to the whole world.

And he does fly! Around 100 times per year, visiting almost every continent each year. His gig diary ranges from dark underground clubs in Berlin to massive techno stages at the world’s most renowned festivals. 

Apart from making his name in the DJ booth, he’s also a tireless producer. He mostly releases on his own imprint 1605, and most of his tracks end up on the very top of Beatport’s charts. After more than 25 years as a professional musician, he decided to use his experience and skills in the entrepreneurial world. Together with his managers, he founded a music-tech startup Viberate (www.viberate.com), where they are building the world’s greatest music platform.

Rammstein are one of rock’s most individual and successful names, a multiple award-winning outfit with a vision that continues to evolve. Since forming in 1994, the six East Berliners have headlined the world’s major festivals and stadiums, selling millions of albums, and topping charts worldwide.

For the Rammstein kollektiv, and it’s the same line-up now as at the start, it’s always been a case of marching to their own beat; they sing in German, side-step those visuals typical of the metal world, and present an incendiary live experience that touches all of the senses – an experience underpinned by cultural and artistic weight.

To date, there are seven studio albums under the Rammstein banner, the most recent being 2019’s untitled release – a body of work that headed the charts in 14 countries and went Top 10 in the US, breaking new ground. Produced by the band with Olsen Involtini, this 11-tracker (double platinum in Germany) was preceded by lead single ‘Deutschland’, a domestic No. 1 supported by a nine-minute movie – an epic, unflinching look at German history directed by Specter Berlin.

Not only was this album a decade in the making, it also saw the musicians taking their legendary live show into Stadiums, selling 800,000 tickets immediately and eventually playing to over 1.2 million fans across 17 countries.

The next leg of the European Stadium Tour takes place in spring / summer 2021, with most venues sold out.

Techno and Pleasure. Here are the two best words to describe my music. I am an indie artist, DJ, producer and promoter.

Born in Nancy in 1983, I discover the electronic music in 1996 with the first album of the famous Daft Punk « Homework ». The track « Rollin’ & Scratchin’ » is my first Techno favorite. Then in 1998, Pills releases its second album (the third for those who knows...) « Electrocaïne »: I fell definitely in love with Techno. I start to listen a lot of Techno mix especially a guy named Laurent Hô.

We are in 2001, Dave Clarke releases his extremely popular « World Service », a two mixes CD, Techno & Electro. Absolutely seduced by the le DJing, I will buy the vinyls of the same album even if I did not have turntables at home yet!!!

I will buy them quickly and start to mix at the Mezcalito, an Open DJ Techno bar in Nancy. I also made dozen of free / rave parties. I organize with some friends our first events and I start to make music on Yamaha RS7000.

We are now in 2004, the dawn of the Psychoquake Sound System. I am this year the happy father of a little Lilou! Unfortunetaly, she will be diagnosed as a Rett Syndrom girl (a genetic brain disease) : I stop the music, I have, of course, another priority.

I am still buying some vinyls (that I do not play!) and keep an ear on the Techno scene. 2017 starts, things have changed and got some time now. My brothers in arms from the Psychoquake Sound System give me my first two dates: playing for the public is still a chance and a pleasure.

In 2019, I am playing for the first time in Germany thanks to Raph and Björn and I discover the Japan with Bruce Mennel. I will play alongside international and established artists such as Alex Bau, Marco Bailey, Vitalic.

Love has also entered the dance! Talented DJane, Alice Ayka and I create « Adan & Rave » to produce emerging artists, our own music and to share our passion and vision of the Techno Culture.

But the COVID crisis strikes. The scene misses me a lot but it is the time to back into music production and sound design. I rewrite my old tracks made on the RS700 and collaborate with Eric Sneo who make the mastering of these tracks.

Milos is involved in the Serbian underground electronic scene for 20 years and counting. His production and mixes can be characterized as "rolling and pumping" techno. He played all over Serbia, notably at the biggest southern European festival "Exit" Festival in Novi Sad, and as well as Holland, Croatia, Bosnia, Macedonia and so on. During his career he collaborated and worked with many foreign DJs, just to name a few: Cristian Varela, Jay Lumen, Vinicius Honorio, Luigi Madonna, Mladen Tomić, Markantonio... and with all the famous DJs of Serbia's underground clubbing scene.
