This is a project that I have had stuck in my head for the longest time, ever since I started listening to lemon demon and started improving my production.
Obviously, I attempted to release this 2 years ago. After 3 revisions of the whole thing I finished what I feel is my best version of one of my favorite albums of all time. Enjoy

Also noting that the original Spirit Phone album (technically) came out 7 years ago today. Which is cool, I think.

In a bleak, not-so-distant future (or perhaps past?), all of humanity is hooked up to a centralized digital world, practically living in virtual reality. There, large corporations had complete control over what the public was exposed to, and abused its power exactly how you'd think.
Spotlight was one half of a radio and television duo who won the hearts of millions worldwide. The station's philosophy was to keep viewers constantly on their toes, never staying on one topic for too long, always switching from one program to the next.
It was nothing short of totally disorienting for those who couldn't keep up with the rapid pace of the programming.
The ones in charge, of course, knew this, and relished in it. After all, it's not like they could simply take their eyes off it. If they wanted to remain in-the-now, they couldn't take their eyes off the mainstream.
Spotlight's job was to keep focus on the here and now, all while preaching this fake independence shtick to keep the populace under some impression that they're living in a world where they can make their own choices. What of her partner, Blacklight? That's for next time.
