Mirror Girl

Trần nhà bệnh viện trắng sáng, hôm nay cũng không đổi, chói lòa.
Trong không khí tĩnh lặng của phòng bệnh, chỉ có tiếng lật trang giấy vang lên.
Nội dung chẳng vào đầu. Nhưng giả vờ đọc, lòng lại thấy bình yên hơn đôi chút.

Bất chợt, có tiếng gõ cửa.

“…Xin chào.”

Một giọng nói lạ.
Nhưng bằng cách nào đó, tôi cảm thấy đã từng nghe qua.
Cậu đứng đó trong bộ đồng phục. Học sinh của Trường Trung học Cộng Dưỡng.
Khuôn mặt ấy, tôi đã vài lần thấy từ khung cửa sổ bên kia.

Trên tay cậu là một phong bì dày.
Cậu ngập ngừng, nhưng nói rõ ràng:

“Thầy hiệu trưởng đã chuẩn bị đặc biệt bài Pair Test này. …Tớ muốn làm cùng cậu.”

Tôi không nói được gì.
Không, có lẽ là tôi không tìm được lời cho cảm xúc ấy.

Ngạc nhiên? Vui mừng? Bối rối?
Hay là cảm giác đã quên mất từ lâu—“được ai đó chạm đến”.

“…Tại sao lại là tôi?”

Cuối cùng, giọng khàn khàn bật ra.

Cậu hơi cười ngượng, nhưng ánh mắt vẫn thẳng thắn:

“Tớ đã thấy cậu học suốt.
Một mình, luôn cố gắng… nghĩ vậy thì… tớ không thể bỏ mặc được.”

Đây là lần đầu tiên có người nói với tôi như thế.
“Cố gắng một mình”—ngay cả tôi cũng chưa từng nhận ra.

Từ phong bì, tờ đề thi được trải ra trên giường.
Những câu hỏi đặc biệt dành cho hai người.
Một nửa là của tôi, một nửa là của cậu.
Đáp án phải cùng nhau viết ra.

Bàn tay cầm bút hơi run.
Nhưng không phải vì bệnh.

“…Rất mong được cùng cậu.”

Trước lời cậu đưa ra, tôi khẽ gật đầu.
