'movement (holkham)' - peter toll (eg.p019)

Happy to announce the forthcoming release of my nature field recording album 'movement (holkham)'  released on engraved glass.
Recorded during the cold winter months of 2010 and 2011/12, listening to the wildlife and natural sounds at Holkham estate on the Norfolk coast UK.

On this album I have tried to capture the natural and wildlife sounds of some of the many habitats at Holkham, with as little interference from humankind as possible.
I wanted the listener to feel that he/she is floating in time & space. Pausing at each different location, quietly listening to the wildlife and energy of each position, 
before gently moving on to the next.
The album is made up of two tracks, beginning in the hall grounds with sounds of Fallow Deer as they enter the rutting season, followed by recordings made on the edge of the marsh, pinewoods, beach and finally the sea.

Two JrF C series contact microphones placed on a metal fence on Monday 11th March around 7:30pm. Temperature around -1 degrees.
Strong gusts of wind create the sounds on the metal fence. Very little could be heard with the human ear, by placing two contact microphones on the fence, this is what came through my headphones. 
In the middle of the recording the wind calms a little before once more blowing up to gusts of force 5 or 6. The high crackles towards the end of the recording is snow hitting the fence and microphones.
