Tejo Tesselations || An Ambient Mix || December 2023

As I was riding my bike back from a dip in the lake by Sao Lourenço de Barrocal, I received a phone call from the organizer of Barrocal Sound, Duarte Uva, who was in a bit of a panic. The headliner for tonight's festivities, the Boss, Michael Mayer's original flight was cancelled and he wouldn't arrive to the venue until after he was supposed to play. Duarte asked me if I had my USB stick and if I could keep the crowd warm. 

As a child, I always liked my substitute teacher's because I got to take advantage of them. The crowd that night did the same to me. They were viciously misbehaving underneath the lights of the Knights Templar Arena. It was an honor to play before the man who started my favorite record label, Kompakt. A big thank you to all who were dancing under the stars, Michael Mayer for the inspiration, Duarte Uva for the opportunity and the Knights Templar for upholding the principles of order.

A Stormy Evening in Arrábida || December 2022

As summer gradually yields to fall, we find ourselves reminiscing about the long, sun-soaked days spent on sandy shores, where lunch gatherings seemed to cease time. The rhythms of time refuse to let us pause, as we swim in circles at the waters embrace. Much like Friedrich Kunath's painting suggests, 'You won't believe where I am.' I found myself lounging on a couch at Casa Reia in Caparica, Portugal, nursing a freshly broken leg, surrounded by friends and my gracious hosts: Sacha, Melody, Emil, and Duda. I played songs that I had cherished over the decades—tunes meant for listening, swaying, sipping, and ultimately, for fading into. I hope you enjoy the journey. - Miro
