"For this 11th instalment on Alpha Black we welcome Masella and his EP "A Place of Saturn", accompanied by our wolfpack members Odagled and Radoon. 
First off we have the headliner, the original "A Place of Saturn". A mystical track, that is overflown with the emotions of deep pads, lighter pads with melodic components, soft piano progressions, accompanied an underlying arp. Evolving hats and shakers throughout the track, filling drumrolls and white noises. All this brought together into a thumping kick, with a solid counter sub kick that will jolt ur body into a trance. 
When going onto "Quione", the tones from the opening track are completely forgotten, finding ourselves welcomed by an aggressive acid arp that seems to ever progress along its deep kick, and the support of more acid melodic notes. Ever opening, at a fast pace, with the drumroll, to drop at the rythm of the white noise, a bouncing counter bass and a delicate stab, into a howling bass. Into the club realm.
One must ask, what is in Odagled's mind. Seems like track after track he surprises. This time with the remix of "A Place of Saturn". Stemming off the beautiful textures and melodic evolution from the original, he takes into another realm.  Kicking off breakbeat, it is hard to know where the remix will go, until we are welcomed into the first break and a rising deep melodic bass falls right between the broken kicks and claps and the rainfalling stabs. Growing ethnic voices into a deepened version of the rising bass, which progresses to open up throughout the track showing more melodic tones. Yet again, Odagled, what's in your head? 
Finally we have Radoon's remix of "Quione". Taking the original acid vibes, and giving it a spin into an ethereal hard hitting vibe. Moving synthlines, and dropping melodic notes, breaking into a rough alarming bass. Ready for late night clubbing, and of course, vibing. 
AB011, one of the most mysterious issues, that navigates an emotional dimension through varied sounds."

The Slovenian based Techno artist releases solo and as part the artist duo Overheads and is a person to watch out for in the future. Malek Ales music is already supported heavily by Richie Hawtin and he has managed to involve remixers of Minus and Sci-Tec artists for his releases. He has also released a remix on the internationally known label ON/OFF. For Trapez he has recorded a full length 3 track mini EP including the tracks: "Timeless", "Elastic Dream" and "Collapse".
The EP kicks off with "Timeless" a powerful production with multiple elements playing rhythmic themes creating a nervous and exciting complexity that works on many levels. You might want to dive into the fantastic breakdown that provides an extra musical theme and skillfully builds up the tension for the track. "Elastic Dream" is more heavy duty than the opening. A heavy bass-line creates a steady forward motion which is very attractive as well as the altogether motion of the track which brings you more funky rhythm programming. The thirds track "Collapse" is more melodic but also carries the frantic drum rolls, the massive baseline and breaks with a strong build up, a trademark of Malek Ales.
