When does profit turn into greed? 
For misanthrop the answer to this question is rooted in the influence that money can have and it is also the essential inspiration for his long-overdue solo EP entitled GREED OF GAIN. 

And we know you all have been waiting for this! This 4-track EP will be released on Misanthrop’s joint label Neosignal Recordings and is packed with a mixture of everything you could sonically ever ask for. 
The production throughout the whole release is second to none and proves why Misanthrop is one of the most pioneering and distinct producers out there. As usual we leave it to the listeners to judge each track for themselves.

Within the palm of the galaxy’s outstretched arms lies a veritable jewel of a world, supporting a rich and eclectic biosphere filled with both flora and fauna blessed with preternatural abilities by the benevolent grace of cosmic luck. Their homeworld’s existence within concentric rings of galactic and solar habitable zones bestows these beings with a countenance of primal grandeur, setting them apart from the other species spread across the galaxy on account of the singular strangeness of their existence. Chief amongst the denizens of this distant world is the spectacular Kahnao, a quadrupedal beast known for bearing forth a most sonorous vocalization.

With a snout resembling the brass horn instruments often found amongst the ancient cultures of humanoid worlds, the Kahnao’s facade hints immediately to the viewer about its primary purpose. With their population spread in small groups across the vast savannas of their homeworlds, the Kahnao have developed a method of communication that allows them to send messages across distances unmatched by the inborn abilities of any galactic species. Thanks to a vocal tract that runs almost the entire length of their bodies, the Kahnao are able to generate infrasonic frequencies that are amplified as they resonate along the string-like appendages that protrude from their mouths. The subtle differences in the bodies of each member of the species create a different chordal signature, a harmony unique to their form that serves as a communicative signature, identifying them to others across the endless grassland expanses of their home. It is said that when the Kahnao herds speak to each other in their great assemblies the entire planet’s surface reverberates in response, as these unique LIFEFORMS create a sonic experience that is without equal anywhere else within the galaxy.

L 33 returns to EATBRAIN with four alien sonic sequences that are replete with thunderous low-end frequencies which call the label’s widespread horde to attention before his latest offering, an EP that he titles “LIFEFORMS”. Within, the EATBRAIN veteran charts new territory for his productions while continuing to deliver the signature sonics that found him purchase on the label many orbital cycles ago, delivering a novel twist on his much beloved stylistic center across the EP’s four tracks.

Michael Bräuninger, known by his artist name Misanthrop, is an independent electronic music 
producer, DJ, and label owner (Neosignal Recordings) from Heilbronn, Germany. Since 2005, he 
has worked professionally as a drum-and-bass producer and, over the years, has released three 
solo albums, including Misanthrop, Analog, and Universe. With over 20 years of relentless work 
on his own musical and artistic visions, he has made a name for himself in both audio and video 
production and has become a key figure in the international drum-and-bass scene.
 His unmistakable, energetic, timeless sound has earned him an impressive discography, including 
his solo albums as well as two collaboration albums (From Deep Space and Raum und Zeit), and 
successful EPs on labels such as RAM Records and Blackout. Releases on OWSLA, Mau5trap, 
Shogun, Critical, Division, Renegade Hardware, Shadow Law, Cyanide, and Subtitles Music 
round out his portfolio. His own label, Neosignal Recordings, serves as a platform to realize his 
own visions as well as those of other artists. He receives support from international heavyweights 
such as Sub Focus, A.M.C, Imanu, Buunshin, Culture Shock, Ed Rush, Black Sun Empire, 
Phace, Mefjus, and many more.
 As a DJ, Misanthrop has played in some of the most renowned clubs and at major festivals 
worldwide. His sets stand out due to precise mixing, modern sound aesthetics, and a well
balanced mix of deep rollers, dancefloor bangers, and experimental beats.
 Misanthrop is not an artist who follows trends or adapts to others; instead, he consistently 
follows his own path. He has shaped the scene for years, always focusing on the quality and 
emotion of his music. For him, the creative process is the key to personal freedom and 
satisfaction.
