After five years of planning, writing, and refining their sound, London-based production duo Kolectiv are set to release their long-awaited debut drum & bass album, Circadian Rhythms.

The project began in the aftermath of the pandemic, when the pair started setting aside tracks that captured the spirit of a night out at a drum & bass event. Their vision was clear: to create an album that reflects the variety, energy, and progression of a rave – from the first beats that pull you into the closing sounds that carry you home.

“Going out to drum & bass nights, you’d hear so many different flavours across six or seven hours. We wanted the album to follow that same arc – like a circadian rhythm, a natural flow of time, but in this case the cycle of a rave,” Kolectiv explain.

To achieve this, the duo placed a strong emphasis on originality and sound design. Most of the album was built from scratch using their own recorded samples, crafted through sessions with keys, drums, and guitars, and only dipping into external sources when absolutely necessary. Vocal collaborations from PAV4N, Hijak MC, Illmatika and Kerry Donnelly add unique flavour to the project, while carefully placed interludes tie the project together as a complete listening experience.

“This isn’t just a collection of tracks. We wanted it to be a journey – a cradle-to-grave kind of experience – with highs, lows, and moments to breathe.”

The title Circadian Rhythms captures that intention perfectly: an audio diary of a night spent immersed in drum & bass culture, told through Kolectiv’s trademark blend of technical precision and emotional depth.

The project also coincided with a complete studio overhaul, giving Kolectiv a fresh environment to finalize and mix down the record with a renewed sense of clarity and focus.

With Circadian Rhythms, Kolectiv deliver more than an album – they present a story, an atmosphere, and a tribute to the music and culture that shaped them.

Two years ago we had the absolute pleasure and honour to be able to release an original track by one of the legends and frontrunners of the dubstep scene, a man that has installed a love for dubstep in so many of us, and is pretty much solely responsible for turning dubstep filthy back in 2010: the one and only Doctor P. He has graced the stage of the biggest drum&bass and dubstep party several times and in preparing for his 2018 passage, he delivered the amazing Virtual Reality to Rampage Recordings. Now, in 2020, we are bringing another long time Rampage affiliate to rework the Doc P classic and chuck it into a different territory entirely: Feint, of Monstercat and Licquicity fame, took on the task and turned the skaing original into an uplifting, melodic stomper that is likely to please each and every drum&bass soul around.

Michael Bräuninger, known by his artist name Misanthrop, is an independent electronic music 
producer, DJ, and label owner (Neosignal Recordings) from Heilbronn, Germany. Since 2005, he 
has worked professionally as a drum-and-bass producer and, over the years, has released three 
solo albums, including Misanthrop, Analog, and Universe. With over 20 years of relentless work 
on his own musical and artistic visions, he has made a name for himself in both audio and video 
production and has become a key figure in the international drum-and-bass scene.
 His unmistakable, energetic, timeless sound has earned him an impressive discography, including 
his solo albums as well as two collaboration albums (From Deep Space and Raum und Zeit), and 
successful EPs on labels such as RAM Records and Blackout. Releases on OWSLA, Mau5trap, 
Shogun, Critical, Division, Renegade Hardware, Shadow Law, Cyanide, and Subtitles Music 
round out his portfolio. His own label, Neosignal Recordings, serves as a platform to realize his 
own visions as well as those of other artists. He receives support from international heavyweights 
such as Sub Focus, A.M.C, Imanu, Buunshin, Culture Shock, Ed Rush, Black Sun Empire, 
Phace, Mefjus, and many more.
 As a DJ, Misanthrop has played in some of the most renowned clubs and at major festivals 
worldwide. His sets stand out due to precise mixing, modern sound aesthetics, and a well
balanced mix of deep rollers, dancefloor bangers, and experimental beats.
 Misanthrop is not an artist who follows trends or adapts to others; instead, he consistently
