Gene has visited our shop a little while ago and recorded a vinyl only podcast in our piano room. 
He was born and raised in a village in Mantova, later moving to Milan where he also fell in love with electronic music. During the time he spent abroad, living in other european hotspots for electronic music, he developed his DJ-ing skills and found musical style.

Gene is the long-time name given to Mauro Genitrini by his friends.
A well-known Italian vocalist wanted to keep it for the artist name too, once Mauro put his feet in the clubbing scene in 1995.

He was born and raised in Suzzara, somewhere in the lowlands of Po river. Any close major city - such as Verona, Modena, Bologna, Mantova - is minimum 40 minutes drive from his hometown.
That’s why his life journey has never stop and took him here and there, in the right place at the right time to enjoy, live and take active part to most of the important phases that shaped the history of electronic music in Italy and Europe.
Ibiza, Riccione, Milano, Bologna, Verona and also Berllin and London to name the most significant. But once you will have a talk with him, many other hidden treasures will make you dream about an old and magic time.
Vinyl selector and collector to be mentioned, his house walls speak by themselves. Touching and playing vinyl is part of each day of his life. The art of mixing has an excellent representation by his sets and choices. High technique skills are blended together with a dreamy and sensitive soul, shaping a journey full of emotions. The exploration of music genres is wide, always surprising but never disturbing.
Gene is a very versatile artist and he has found his way to Switzerland in recent years and is now making his name for a very danceable but genre bending style of house, electronica and minimal music.
Mostly vinyl only sets, they will always surprise you while he dug deep in his record case and dishes out some hidden gems.
