Greetings Friends and welcome to episode #024 of Mercury Landing.

As always, I'd like to start the show with a bit of gratitude and I want to send a shout to all of our listeners and supporters. We have finally hit over 700 followers and we're really grateful for that. We realize you have so many other options so many other choices but it is really nice to see our community growing. And for that, I am very thankful. Thank you to all of our guest who have been a part of the show. Without you, the show wouldn't have grown as much as it has. So, thank you so much again, for being a part of this journey.

Up next we have our next guest, which goes by the name of @verningitup. Verningitup is a selector and curator from South Africa. I discovered her through our lovely SoundCloud algorithms through a mix called "INDOMIE SO INTO YOU". Her style is described as a mix between R&B, Futurebeats and Bounce playing with sounds from the 90’s to early 2000’s before bringing it back to the present day. In her spare time, she enjoys digging for music which definitely translate in her mixes though her unique selection of music. OFF AIR SESSION presents “Swerved” - a collaboration between the sound artist Jinji [Johannesburg, South Africa] @jinji.jpg and visuals from Nawid [Frankfurt, Germany] @nawidooo_s.

Jinji provides us music lovers with body grooving vibes for this session. From Ciara's Body Party, Bruno Mars' Finesse, to Tupac, and many more, the "Swerved" consists many gems of old school flips in afro/baile and house vibes. We love the part of the mix where Jinji adds a bit of his Afrikan Roots to provide a hint of his culture to the mix! 

For more information about Jinji, he is an up and coming producer/dj with a great love for music. He is not defined by one genre which allows him to explore and experiment with different sounds from all over the world and broaden his versatility. We hope to see more of him in action for future collaborations and sessions throughout the endless world of music!

ALL2GETHER Presents: On Location, standalone mixtapes exploring the international DJ community.

Up-and-coming producer and DJ @jinjishinobi welcomes us to Johannesburg with "Rhythm and Souletry" an exploration of contemporary Boom bap and Soul featuring several artists from South Africa's burgeoning underground music scene who've put their own spin on the sound. 

"I've been producing for about four years now. What made me want to start producing was when I heard Substance by Goldwater on Soundcloud for the first time and thought it was the best piece of production I'd ever heard at the time, still think it is till today, so a good friend of mine hooked me up with an android application called Caustic and that's about when I started learning how to make beats before moving on to FL Studio. The most notable artists I can say influence me right now are J Dilla, Knxwledge, and Kaytranada, but in most cases, I'm more influenced by a type of sound than I am by an artist and even that changes from time to time."
