~ About The Story ~

After a long autumn walk out of Berlin in the Brandenburg Forest and Spree River at Plaenterwald (which has an old abandoned amusement park) I went back home and basically continued my autumn journey with selecting music for a mix. I tried to create an atmosphere and images of for autumn, I worked quite long on the music selection to really paint the picture and tell the story I wanted to achieve and then recorded the mix in Ableton with a delay and reverb and most tracks I also slightly edited. From rainy textures, falling leaves, sunny days to cloudy and windy atmospheres. I chose a poem to go accompany the mix.

They say inspiration comes from everywhere...yet I can't say it's always there. It's been 6 months since my last set throughout which time I've been collecting music and thinking out sets yet I couldn't come around to recording. 

So here it is -- my latest.

Agoria asked last year if I wanted to do a remix from Oxia's "Domino".
Like many times in the past, I have chosen big songs, so that its double so hard to do my own interpretations. I took the offer and told myself "if you remix "Domino", then do it in a very smart and musical way". Not everyone who listens to both remixes will immediately recognize the song, because they are not focused on the peak time in the clubs or festivals. Instead, they are focused on the softer and loving moments on the dance floor. Don’t we need some of this in these times? #1 on the next dance charts in the USA would be nice… ☺

“Ahead of my GU42 Berlin album release on March 29th, I wanted to share a very special live set from the other side of the planet. Like Berlin, Rainbow Serpent is an anomaly on the rave map. This mix will be online for a very limited period only:

The best dance floor in the world. That’s the Market Stage of Rainbow Serpent Festival to me. The energy of the Rainbow tribe, the rabid vibe and feeling of unity are difficult to describe to anyone who has not been here. Simply standing on the dancefloor and experience this incredible sound system is one of life’s finer pleasures. I felt absolutely honoured to be trusted with the task to close the festival. Looking onto the dancefloor from the dj booth, the Market Stage painted a beautiful picture. The atmosphere was electric and love-drunk all day, Nick Warren and D-Nox brought their A-game.

This is my third year in a row playing here and the absolute highlight on my yearly calendar. In these years my wife and I have made friends for life here, which is why we release this mix with our beloved Wildwood crew. We have grown extremely fond of Australia as a country. Distant from the livesets I play in clubs, I here focus on music I listen to at home, music that gives me a lot of inspiration. In these mixtapes, I try to express my own ideas of musical exploration by layering and mixing sounds, textures, scenes, athmospheres & soundscapes. Playing with tension and relaxation.
