Audiodrama – Schranz from Cologne
Born in 1980 near Cologne, Audiodrama (aka David Wieland) is a long-standing force in the German Schranz scene. Shaped by the raw spirit of the mid-90s rave movement, his journey began in 1995 at Nature One – a defining moment that sparked a lifelong obsession with relentless grooves, distorted kicks and uncompromising energy.
Throughout the late 90s, Audiodrama became deeply rooted in the underground, spending countless nights in iconic clubs such as Poison Club, Tor 3, Palazzo, Stammheim and U60311. Absorbing the intensity of those floors and the brutal sound aesthetics of the era, stepping behind the decks became the natural next step.
In 2005, he launched his DJ career with his own setup and quickly gained momentum. A successful participation in the DJ Contest at Butan Club Wuppertal marked an important step forward and led to his first bookings and club appearances, laying the foundation for his ongoing presence on the scene.
After a creative hiatus between 2007 and 2016, Audiodrama returned stronger, sharper and more focused than ever. Since then, he has performed at renowned venues and events including Mikroport Krefeld, Hans Bunte Freiburg, Fusion Club Münster, MS Connexion Complex Mannheim, Druckbetrieb Schranz, Bellini Club Mainz and became a regular at the legendary Elektroküche Cologne.
Further standout appearances include Harter Modus at 7er Club Mannheim, AUSNAHMEZUSTAND at Trafic Cologne and Hart in den Herbst at MS Connexion Mannheim.
A personal milestone followed in 2019, when Audiodrama finally played Elektroküche Cologne after 13 years of anticipation. This emotionally charged set marked a defining chapter in his career and firmly cemented his connection to one of Germany’s most influential techno institutions.
International recognition came in 2018 with his debut outside Germany at Borderline Club Basel, underlining his ability to move crowds beyond national borders.
Today, Audiodrama represents pure, high-pressure Schranz – raw, aggressive and uncompromising. His sets deliver relentless drive, industrial textures and precision-built tension, merging old-school Schranz roots with contemporary sound design. Expect no compromises, no trends – just maximum energy, dark atmosphere and 100% underground impact.
