Growing up and going out when hip hop and acid house was taking the world by storm, this is where Karen’s journey in the industry began.
Music was her passion and during the 90s Karen discovered progressive house music. Karen first learned how to mix on Technics 1210s and her love for discovering new music was always paramount.
Going clubbing was all about being educated in music. Hearing fresh tunes and going over to Eastern Bloc twice a week to get those tracks.
Fast forward 15 years, Karen then started to go out to gigs again but they were reunions, all old tunes and it left her feeling uninspired after a while.
In 2017 Karen checked out a Greg Wilson mix and straight away was blown away by the fresh funky sound and once again she felt that “oh my goodness, what is this track moment?”
Karen co-ran Downtown Disco events in 2018/ 2019 inviting incredible artists such as Dr Packer, Late Nite Tuff Guy, Babert, Michael Gray, Ladies on Mars and Fingerman to name just a few for the lineups.
At the end of 2018, Karen went on to co-manage Downtown Disco Agency representing artists such as Michael Gray, Barry & Gibbs, Dave Leatherman, HP Vince, Re-Tide,Babert, Tropical Disco, Da Lukas, Funkatomic, Fingerman, C Da Afro and Ladies on Mars.
In 2020 Karen joined forces with Lenny Fontana who has been such an inspiration and taught Karen so much about life in the music industry.
Karen aka Miss Chief, works at Karmic Power Records with Lenny & Manuel helping to put together the incredible ‘True House Stories’ shows which have become so popular, Karmic Power Records are now rolling out ’True House Stories Takeover’ shows worldwide to stations such as FG Chic, NDC, My House FM, The Works Experience, RUAR, Real House Radio, Red Army TV and Opentempo. These shows are 2 hour sets with Lenny plus his previous ’True House Stories’ guest mixes.
Karen bought her controller in 2017 and is still just doing DJing for fun. She has recently done guest mixes for Maison De House, Club Lorenzo, Only Good Vibes, FG Chic, FourPlay, NDC, Radio Warrington, House Nation, RUAR, Reminisce Radio to name just a few. 
Karen is also assisting with International Takeover shows on NDC such as Stateside, The Italian Job, The Disco Waltons Takeover shows and the weekly Disco Waltons Sunday Service on NDC plus many more.
