I was having so much fun playing some tunes in this episode that I only realised right near the end of the first hour that I’d totally forgotten to press record! So the hour you hear here is a faithful recreation of the hour that went out live on NDC. Whoops! The most annoying thing is that it’s not the first time I’ve done that. It was a fun first hour though, starting with some slow jams, picking up to mid tempo, a few fast paced belters then back down into comfortable territory for the last 20. A couple of new bits from me in there as well. 

In hour 2 I was very pleased to hand things over to twin DJs Hansel & Gretel for the Guest Mix. Hannah and Greta are based in Norwich but can often be found behind the decks in clubs and bars around London. I’ve been following their adventures on Instagram for a while and have had the pleasure of chatting to them a little bit, and they’re lovely, positive people who love their music and are going places. This set is fast paced, house based and full of deep and techy yet funky grooves - I loved it!

The Black Light Disco Show burst onto the My House Radio airwaves again on Monday 6th March - putting our steel capped boots on to aggressively kick Monday in the nutsack and spread a little peace and love in the world.

The boys have been particularly busy this week  - clearing the old big speakers and glitter balls out of the festival toilet on the 14th floor of BLD Towers. We gave them some respite and time out over the weekend to put together their show for today and they didn’t disappoint.

BLD 6th March 2023 with Pookie Knights

I’m sad. I’m angry. I’m frustrated and disappointed. My heart hurts for what is happening to my trans friends and their community. They are humans. And humans deserve equal rights. Period. 


I woke up feeling extra heavy and moved through yesterday carrying this sadness with me. The night before I saw a video that broke my heart more than any other. I’ve been staying up-to-date with all of the hearings and everything that’s been going on, but this video broke me. My heart knew I needed to contribute in some way and then I thought about the song by Timmy Thomas, Why Can’t We Just Live Together. I knew that I needed to use music to express these feelings that have stuck with me. This is a dedication to the trans community. My heart is in these tracks. I love you. I support you. And I hope for nothing more than your rights to be as equal as a white man in America. I hope this gives you a reason to celebrate yourself and gets you out of your mind for 88 minutes to groove and honor your body. Stay strong, we need you <3

Playing music that encourages the stiffest of bodies to wiggle to the beat - bouncing from funk to house but always finding my home at disco. My sets are frisky and full of life.
