A kid grows up too fast, travels too far, and sees too much. From Edmonton, Alberta to El Paso, Texas and everywhere in between. Only thing that ever made sense to me was to sing about it.  These are those songs, entries from different periods of my life. Hope you enjoy. 

Music project of the rock noise variety. Formerly the band Placeholders of Nashville, TN.

Fabulous Decline is a four-piece indie rock band from Southern Illinois, whose sound can be described as passionate, catchy, and powerful. Comparisons have been made to other rock bands, both past and present, but similarities rarely subsist through the next song played. Clearly, there is an entire universe of influences being explored here, with seemingly none taking precedence over any other.

Though it doesn't sound confused. There's a element of emotion - sometimes jubilant, but often melancholy - that ties it all together. And if it isn't always apparent through the lyrical content, it's certainly there in another form: a vocal sweep that causes your hair to stand on end, or a chord progression that knocks the wind out of you.

That kind of genuine fervor requires talent to convey, and Fabulous Decline have it in spades. The backbone is the rhythm section, from which drummer Alan Mabee and bassist Jimmy Thorne II deliver a driving and frequently intricate foundation for each song to be built upon. Adam Morton and Jon Teutrine then contribute an interweaved layer of jangle and dirt via overdriven acoustic and electric guitar.

With this tightly bound instrumentation, the proverbial icing on the cake is their vocals. Mort's unmistakably distinctive voice administers a powerful melody, and his bandmates provide brilliant harmonies at exactly the right moments. Follow that up with one of their chorus hooks, which have been described as "anthemic," and you'll agree - it really is fabulous.

Caleb Amelunke has performed live over 600 times in the past 7 years and has no desire to slow down. Whether it is in a solo classical setting or with a rock band, sharing music with audiences is what is most important to him. 
In his band, Old School Hype, he and his collaborators create music that focuses on blending bluesy riff rock with energetic indie textures that keeps audiences bobbing their heads and moving. The Denver-based band has toured the west coast two times and is currently in the process of writing their second album.
Caleb’s affection for the guitar began at age eight when a friend taught him to play “Smoke on the Water,” creating another victim of the old cliché. Throughout his teens he performed weekly with a cover band in bars around southeast Missouri.
It was not until later that Caleb began playing the classical guitar. As a junior in high school, he enrolled in Southeast Missouri State University’s music program and began studying solo and ensemble guitar repertoire. After graduating high school, he moved to Denver, where he currently attends the Lamont School of Music at the University of Denver. He also spent a semester studying at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland in Glasgow. 
In his free time, Caleb enjoys attempting to entertain those around him with any goofy joke that pops into his mind. This follows him into any musical setting that he finds himself in, whether it is the comical levity that accompanies his performing or the sometimes unbearable stage banter in between songs with his band, audiences are always left smiling.
