Ramrock Records are so happy to be releasing the beautiful ‘Lessons in Love’ EP from the UK’s very own green eyed soul boy, Mr Greg Blackman on their soul offshoot, Ramrock Blue.

Taken from Greg’s ‘GB4’ LP, the first track will be familiar to everyone but Greg’s interpretation of Level 42’s 1986 ‘Lessons in Love’ adds a fresh spin on this classic. With his exquisite vocals and Italian producer Suonho at the production and arrangement controls, Mr Blackman delivers a stunningly powerful rework with an emotion that will resonate with everyone who has had suffered turmoil in their relationships.

On the ‘Wallace and Morris’ remix of ‘Stormy, Greg deftly delivers a poolside perfect rendition of the standard, originally by the Classic IV in 1968 and re-loved by the Supremes. Jo and Darren channel their inner Sergio Mendes adding harpsichord, woodblock and Mellotron to add irresistible samba-esque Brazil ’66 vibes. The LP Version of ‘Stormy’ is a dream team collaboration with Greg hooking up with De Lata’s high respected founding member, Chris Franck. Within minutes of being introduced in the studio, Greg and Chris hit the record button and, in one take, laid down the acoustic version of ‘Stormy’ with Greg’s vocals complimenting Chris’s atmospheric guitar work perfectly – it was a remarkable moment.
