It’s Saturday night, you hang around in the club and you want to listen to your favourite clubtracks. But the booked dj has other plans and navigates the dancers through his personal taste, without accounting for the wishes of his audience. What can you do?

Do it yourself, of course. And this is exactly what Cem Corlu (35) alias DJ Cem did, as he found himself in situation like this many years ago.

Meanwhile the years passed by and Cem belongs to the crème de la crème of Swiss clubbing for a long time now. This is documented by the long list of clubs, that already have booked him: Supermarket, Oxa, Club Q, Kaufleuten, Mascotte, Du Théâtre, Liquid, Atlantis, Bar Rouge and Orient are just a few of the Swiss locations he has played at. He has also played at main events like the Street Parade in Zurich (since 1998), Mykonos-Events, Haustanz and Pure Passion of course.

Cem is a renowned dj now, not only in Switzerland: He played at Astra (Mykonos, Greece), Cavo Paradiso (Mykonos, Greece) and Paranga Beach Club (Mykonos, Greece). He stood at the turntables of the M1 and Barcode in Stuttgart (Germany) and has played in countries like Romania, Poland or Turkey.

Cems passion for housemusic doesn’t stop at djing: The track „You“ (2007), produced with Swiss vocalist Tanja Dankner, has made it on compilations released by Pacha Records worldwide and has been sold countless times. “So Beautiful”, produced in the year 2009, was a stunning success. Cems tracks are played by top shots like Pete Tong (Radio BBC One) or Sarah Main (Pacha Ibiza-resident). This year “Just Glow”, a cooperation with DJ Rocco Nocera under the name Blackbird will hit the shops. 

The house-dj for with lots of passion for his profession gets his creative ideas from the exhaustless fund of soul-, jazz- and rhythm’n’blues-music. Dj Cem has a affectation for the productions of Kerri Chandler, Danny Tenaglia, Brian Tappert or MAW. But also the younger generation with its exponents Jimpster, Rocco, Dennis Ferrer influence him and his music. But also the outstanding international label NAKED MUSIC with it’s impressive productions are accompany DJ Cems carreer.

Meanwhile DJ Cem ist a renowned dj and producer, that inspires newcomers by himself.
