Party lovers and party starters grow up. We’re here today, excited as if it was our first time in line for the club, to announce our very first label project. As we believe good vibes go hand in hand with the good sound we made our vision real and loud: our very first release as BS Radio label is coming very soon. BS Radio Volume 01, a superb 11-tracks album compiled by the exquisite Eternal Love duo.

BS Radio, the music soul of Burro Studio, is music, events and people. So let’s get the party started.

“When the lovely Burro Studio crew asked us to compile volume 1, we did not have any experience in curating a full musical discographic project. So, the easiest way was to ask friends to contribute to their music. We can definitely say we were lucky to be surrounded by such talented people ! Big thanks to all the artists involved for creating this emotional musical journey: the perfect soundtrack from the first warm lights of the sunrise to the lunar reflections of a summer night by the sea”.

Ploughing new depths of dancefloor intensity with every release, Glaswegian duo Manakinz's prolific work rate continues to churn out left-of-centre bangers and chuggers at a pace. Releasing elsewhere on mighty imprints like Let's Play House, Futureboogie and Mitchell Street Records and receiving support from the likes of The Blessed Madonna and the late, great Andrew Weatherall, 'Semi-Sozzled' is their second EP for Ben Gomori's Monologues Records, and packs in another four utterly inimitable face-melters.

'The Sizzle' is one of the most bugged-out and unique tracks you're likely to hear this year, its discordant bleep riff and pummeling groove blurring the lines between electro, house, acid and techno in delightfully weird fashion. 'The Grateful Dread' ups the intensity with its overlapping organ chords and stabs and dubby touches. 'Beach House' takes goes on a mystical trip through tribal rhythm, heavenly melodies and distorted acid bass, and 'Spaceships In The Night' rounds off the package with a flurry of dizzying synths and full-on, mind-bending automation.

Scientific Observations From The Safe Trip Institute

Our latest bulletin is aimed at all colleagues of the Safe Trip Institute scattered around the globe. We invite your comments and observations on the enclosed audio artefacts: file number ST017.

Two associate fellows of the Institute, Darling and Ben Penn, brought these aural communications to our attention during a recent visit to our laboratory. Having performed analysis we offer the following observations for your consideration.

• Recording ST017-A (colloquially known as “Sierra”): This artefact, as presented by visiting fellow Darling, appears to be an audio representation of his personality. We examined in particular the rhythmic “bump”, the undulating sound of the bass notes and the rising nature of the accompanying electronic musical elements. Through typical “Phrenology” techniques we conclude that he is an outgoing person of possible extra-terrestrial origin who enjoys dancing to futuristic sounding music.

• Recording ST017-B (hereby referred to as “Trouble”): Our associate Ben Penn brought this particular musical soundscape to our attention. Our resident ethnomusicologist explains that certain structures and sound approaches can be traced back to remote, uninhabited islands in the Indonesian archipelago. Having run the recording through our patented spectrogastrometer, we believe that Penn has been communicating with non-humanoid lifeforms using a combination of futuristic mathematical formulas, shimmering electronic sounds, unearthly aural textures, heavy percussion and edible ideas.
