Seoul-based dj and producer Closet Yi first appeared on our radar in 2020 with her EP ‘Tam Tam Land’, released via Hollick and Gabriel Szatan’s imprint No Bad Days. This quirky EP quickly put her on the map as a producer to keep an eye on. Her next EP on Seoul label Honey Badger Records - incorporating newer styles and less conventional rhythms into her music - cemented her as a multi-faceted and creative artist, meanwhile dj sets across the most respected clubs in Seoul and beyond have proven her as a mainstay of her local scene.Today we’re honoured to have her on our MIXED BY/ series today to answer some of our questions and share with us an hour-long journey of high-energy trance leaning tunes.

Pabie's approach to ambient music became pretty intense during the covid period when he spent countless hours at home and focused on blending feelings rather than beats so to speak.

a companion mix to an ongoing series of digital illustrations entitled "Destruxion Pixie", exploring the textures of digital art-making.

Traditional media is often romanticized for its tactility (the brush strokes of painting, the rub of pastels, the chemical reactions of ceramic glaze). This is said to be what keeps them elevate above the "cold" and "sterile" qualities of digital art.

The goal of the series is to hone in on the the dusts/cracks/glitches/crunches of the digital: the textural signatures that make it unique, and contain as much depth as the traditional mediums.

Collected here are songs found to exude vivid physical and digital texture, that further the intent and style of the images.

Timo and I met first online in the times of the early ADSL era in the beginning 00s. Back then he was already running (and still is!) the influential deep house mix page DeepRhythms.com that nobody only remotely interested in electronic music wouldnt be aware of in these days (Note: there were maybe a handful such pages online, Discogs was in version 0.1 and social media madness wasnt even on the horizon, so i guess without exaggeration you can call his work pioneering). 
Fast forward to 2023: These days he's still doing this thing plus he's got one and a half top-notch labels under his belt (running Echocentric Records and co-running Coymix) and is still a kick-ass DJ too. 
I'm especially happy to present a brand new mix by Timo on the EstimuloShow guest mix series,  here he is oscillating between old and recent tracks on the techier edge of house music, creating a flow with a pure party vibe.
