We present to you a recording of the first half of Hypnotic Spa at Sustain Release: Year Five. We were very happy to be invited to close-out the Grove stage at Camp Kennybrook on Saturday morning. What transpired among the pines was pure magic, a spiritual exercise that echoed the sacred traditions of our ancestors, and one that might best represent our efforts with this music more than ever before. It was a blessing and an honor to perform.

E2E: What environment or context did you have in mind when recording the mix?

I noticed that all the Ear 2 Ear mixes had a particular theme so before I was even asked to contribute to the series, I had a particular theme in mind for it - if I ever got asked to contribute that is. The theme I chose was music for stargazing. Which brings me back memories to some of the most special and spiritual experiences I've had with my closest friends. I wanted to create a mix of music that suited the environment we found ourselves in. A group of us alone, set on a beach with the ocean washing the sand as we lay there staring into the open sky. The stars twinkling as the air sung in the background, all of us in a complete state of relaxation, losing all sense of self, transcending and connecting as one, with each other and with the earth itself.

E2E: Tell us a bit about your new Body Corp alias, have you got any new work coming up?

Body Corp is I guess an outlet for more electronic/dance music that I write. I’m currently working on finishing another 2 EPs mainly and always just working on new tracks, especially during this time while there’s more of it. One of the EPs is a follow up to the first release with Soothsayer and the other is in its early stages and a bit more relaxed, less for the dance floor and more for listening at home. That one is a work in progress so we’ll see where it goes.. シ
