Greetings! We're excited to share one last Pacific Spirit session in 2022. This time around we're taking an uplifting cruise through foundational and under the radar deep house from the golden era stitched together by NYC's @arsenii aka Bliss Street Queens. Arsenii released an incredible record with us a few months back called the "Deep Hows EP" and this mix is evocative of the sound he explored on that essential 12". If you haven't secured a copy there's still a handful floating around at the finer record stores on the Planet E.

Her own true incarnation has been shaped by living a decade in New York; being inspired by “the wonderful POC Trans-women” of the Ballroom Scene, BASHKKA’s music serves and represents nothing less than “CUNT!” on the floor. The sensorial mix BASHKKA has put together for Skuggan is full of texture and rhythm patterns, bringing ultra-modern Future Sound of London-vibes to mind. Enjoy!

A sunset set at Waking Life, Portugal, in June 2023. I DJed after Vlada and before Anthony Naples, in front of a beautiful lake with the sun setting behind me and an incredibly wholesome, engaged, positive, locked-in crowd in front of me. Kept this one pretty measured in pace, and went for expansive, moody, euphoric, maybe also a little psychedelic in vibe, sorta imagining gazing into the deep starry abyss.

Good news, episode 88 of Pacific Spirit has landed.

A live recording from the legendary San Francisco "Wine Hole", better known as @barpartime has surfaced from the evening of September 2, 2022. The recording is a dusty stumble through the first two hours of a 5 hour B2B session between DJ D.DEE and Jeremy Castillo. It's jam packed with plenty of c-sides and alternate versions of classic songs you never needed to hear again. 

Slow your day down, relax, and remind yourself music is awesome and that you love listening to it.

Enjoy the audio and as always thanks for listening. Big S/O to everyone who was there for the original session. You're the best.

NOTE: There was some unfortunate issues with the recording at a certain point (you'll know when). Please do not blame this on your internet connection or audio equipment. It was definitely our fault.

Good news! The 92nd episode of Pacific Spirit has landed gracefully on the World Wide Web. It's a winding and eurphoric session from Austin, Texas' @c-thru2, who released an incredible LP with us last year titled "The Otherworld". The recording includes some live excerpts from C-thru's live performance at Public Records earlier this year. The freshly pressed vinyl version of "The Otherworld" is available now at the finer record shops across the globe.

Track one down and sink into a modern classic described as "Charmingly fluffy-minded Balearic ambient downbeats and breaks" by the tastemakers over at Boomkat.

For the 30th edition of OK Series, Ciel leans in to the Off-Kilter concept, drawing on her influences away from the dance floor. A collage of instrumental and vocal struck shoegaze, left-field, new wave, trip hop and touches of darker electronic grooves.

Ciel, real name Cindy Li, is a music producer, DJ, pianist, and radio presenter based in Toronto and originally from Xi'an China.

As one of the most prominent exports out of Toronto, she has graced the decks at world-class clubs like Berghain’s Panorama Bar, De School, Robert Johnson, Nowadays, and fabric.

Now becoming known as a prolific producer, Cindy has released music on labels such as Peach Discs, Naïve, Terrafirm, Ghostly International, Studio Barnhus, Mister Saturday Night, !K7 Records, Lucky Me, Planet Euphorique, Jacktone, XKalay, Unknown - Untitled, as well as Eris Drew's Ecstatic Editions whilst collaborating with artists like D Tiffany, Dan Only, Priori, Ali
Berger, & Kilig.

Being a founding member of the Toronto electronic music label Parallel Minds, Ciel is also a member of the globally recognized women and LGBTQIA+ DJ collective Discwoman and has produced a monthly radio show on Rinse FM in London, UK since 2018.
