5 years ago I collaborated with dark electronic artist/vocalist INRGD.

She contributed her gorgeous ethereal vocals to music I had sent. Fellow producer Belial Pelegrim skillfully mixed her vocals perfectly to the material.

The result was the track “Eudiamonia”. This remains one of my favorite collaborations- the beauty and purity of INRGD’s vocals resonated deeply on this track, giving a near chilling emotive power.

By allowing this track to expose itself in reverse, I’ve found another level of emotion derived. Even more ghostly, almost that of a different realm altogether - yet equally intended to touch the soul.

Then She Reaches for the Gun was formed in 2021 by Mat Ward. At its essence is sound collage, Ward invites musicians, sound artists, poets and anyone interested to send him files to be used, abused and showcased ‘as suggested by the work’. They are not always musical but field recordings, spoken word, engine noises and drunken rants. Animals participate a lot too! The raw material is arranged with one phrase asking for the next in an alchemical and intuitive process that will most often feature dozens of tracks weaving in and out of each other, colliding, harmonising, arguing and laughing along the way.

Both the aesthetic and the compositional methods use what Frank Zappa called Xenochrony - the mixing together of separately recorded and rhythmically opposing musical phrases to create polyrhythmic and polytempi compositions.The work also features fragmented story telling with the human voice (in many languages) appearing unannounced throughout the tracks offering up snippets of thoughts, conversations, jokes and existential angst. The absurdity of humanities desperate claim to have any real understanding of its place in the universe is revealed through the recorded follies and genuine emotions of the artists. The project is a celebration of chance, diversity and community. It pays homage to all musical tastes and genres whilst maintaining a sense of humour and irreverence that is needed to stay sane in the climate of 21st Century contemporary culture.

Made with a toy walkie talkie within the Inverted Lands. 
Test 1: Testing for evidence of universal existential planned obsolescence
Observing portal structure as it pertains to physical law within "our" reality.
-Place walkie into portal set to channel 11
-Tuck you pants into your socks and shake your left elbow (as previously extracted from scratch garden ritual)
-While eating a baked good of any sort repeat three times: "I will survive, I will survive, I will survive."
-Wait and record what happens.

Bleeping & Blooping (Test: 1)

*Wrapping up the end of the track Tidus does a reprise melody from our last album wonder if you find the rainbow connection! Hint: at bottom of page if you want it that easy...*
Wind chimes are used in the following test:
A test to observe the correlation of the Rhythmic Motion method between "Our" and "Other" realities. 
- Place wind chimes on branch of living tree (black walnut preferably)
- Observations have shown presence of Rythmic Motion will encourage movement of the branch into nearby portal and breach the thin veil to the Inverted Lands.
- Spin around three times clockwise, then three times vertically while on tree swing counterclockwise.
- Take note of the sound inversions as they occur through the portal back into "Our" reality and recordings made from recording mechanism within the "Other" reality.
- Precautionary Note*: Do not have marbles loose in the testing area as one is now forever lost to the "other" side.

Why is it called a guilty pleasure when you don't really feel guilty enough to stop? Test involves trying to hold conversation about fast food with voices coming from "Other" reality.
- Visit local convenience establishment and procure food of the "fast" variety.
- Purchase whole food stuffs bring all items home and prepare.
- While presenting both dishes beside portal opening, lament over how hungry you are (absolutely famished!) 
- Observe for any voices in response to the constructed dilemma that are not your own.
- They might tell you to do things that seem great at the time but will bring you regret in the near future.
