Shy Margiela is a DJ and nightlife curator in the South. Based in Houston, Texas, he’s become a rising force in the city’s queer nightlife scene, known for sets that blend raunchy tracks with hypnotic rhythms.

Born in the Rio Grande Valley, Shy draws heavily from his border upbringing where Latin rhythms are interwoven with cross-cultural club sounds. His selections dive into the high-BPM terrain of Latin core, hard groove, techno, and southern club, all stitched together with sensuality, high-energy, and release.

Through his club series Hard Drive and affiliation with the collectives, Club Shugga and Kore, Shy is carving out space for experimentation, visibility, and community on Southern dance floors. His sets challenge the floor to feel sounds that are unfamiliar by releasing tension and becoming one with the music.
