Avant la pandémie, j'ai travaillé longtemps à perfectionner de nouvelles créations musicales adaptées pour la performance en live en sachant que je ne jouerai pas avant longtemps. Exceptionnellement, J'ai eu la chance et l'opportunité de jouer en direct, filmé durant une présentation du PURR SOCIAL CLUB organisé par Dominique Thibault (Dj Mighty Kat) à Montréal le 9 avril 2021. La suite de DJs présentés pendant cette soirée fut SUFèR, Mighty Kat et moi-même. Au moment de la performance, j'ai jouer à une vitesse de 126 bpm. Departures is such an appropriate title for this EP, as not only is this a departure from what many have come to expect from André but also these songs really take you on a journey that is a departure from your daily concerns. 

When I was asked to do a painting for the cover, I wanted to capture the idea that the song has always been playing & always will be playing, and we just happen to be catching a small sliver of it. I hope when viewing the art that it takes you closer to the music, not further away.

The songs are a mix of sonic bliss & melancholy, with very memorable melodies. 

Don’t be surprised if “Departures” brings you right back to your center.
