Darius Feels Right

Buenos Aires-based Colombian producer Diego Ruiz, aka DFRA, steps up to take charge for the second release from the young Four Framed Music label. He distills his love of Chicago and Detroit into these four stylish house cuts along with the signature sounds he is known for. 'Get Outta My Bass' is first with its wave of warming synth work and lively drums while 'Soul To Soul' pumps a deeper vibe, though the soul-drenched feelings remain. 'Black Point' is built from lo-fi and dusty loops, with muted synth magic spreading feel good vibes and last of all DFRA & Kuraitis join forces for late-night roller 'The Purple Rose'.

Australian DJ and producer duo Anthony Fade debuts on the young Shall Not Fade sub-label Lost Palms with their ‘What I Need’ EP, featuring the hazy and atmospheric house cut ‘Get With You’.
 
Since emerging last year with their first 12” release on Tomahawk, Anthony Fade are looking to make a splash in 2017. Following a release on House Crime, a sub-label of DJ Haus’ Unknown To The Unknown, they grace yet another sub-label in the form of Shall Not Fade’s Lost Palms with a more dreamy aesthetic to their sound profile. 
 
‘Get With You’ kicks off with dusty percussion littered over tranquil atmospherics as a seductive and flirtatious vocal leads into a hard hitting house beat. Fade’s approach has been to deliver raw anthems and they hold nothing back with their latest offering.
 
Anthony Fade’s ‘What I Need’ EP is set for release on July 14.

Premiere: Anthony Fade 'Get With You'

“Your Grooves” is the latest release by the ever funky, always unidentifiable duo, Fabrikate. Following their June single, “By My Side” (featured as #9 on Don Diablo’s HouseTime Spotify playlist), Fabrikate emerge with another experiment in their nostalgic production formula. The result, as always, sounds like honey dripped over a spinning record.

When asked again if the public will ever get to see their faces, Fabrikate (again) spoke a clear “No” in unison and disappeared into a deli, leaving their music to hold us over. “Your Grooves” starts off at a downtempo pace, unfolding its layers with patience. As the mood begins to settle in, the vocals affirm what you already knew: “We’ve got your grooves”. Then comes thick, sonic gloss; crisp percussion walled-in by powerful synths; a saxophone note or two. And the vocals speak once more: “Get ready, ‘cause this groove is steady.”

Fabrikate close their Summer with maximum steadiness. If you happened to be wondering where your grooves are, it looks like the masked beatmakers have them right here.
