“I am from India” – that’s the title of Mannheim DJ and music producer niju‘s newest production. As we provide the song as a free download we talked to the young musician about the concept, development and release of the track.

trndmusik: Your new track is titled “I am from India”. When did you first think of producing the track?

niju: That was absolutely spontaneous. I was watching this documentary picturing an Indian farmer as he talked about his life when I realised that not only the content matter, but also the sound of the farmer talking were inspiring and actually usable for the vocals.

"I am from India" - so heisst ein neues Werk von niju - @niju-1. Der Mannheimer DJ und Musikproduzent bietet das Stück über trndmusik als kostenfreien Download an. Welches Konzept hinter dem Track steckt, wie er entstanden ist und wieso er auf keinem Label veröffentlicht wird, erzählt der junge Musiker im Interview.

trndmusik: "I am from India" heisst dein neuestes Werk. Wann kam die Idee zur Nummer?

niju: Die Idee zu dem Track kam mir komplett spontan. Ich habe in einer Dokumentation einen indischen Bauern gesehen, der ein Interview gegeben hat, in dem er über sein Leben und seine Biographie erzählte. Das hat mir sowohl inhaltlich, als auch sound-technisch so gut gefallen, dass ich die Vocals in dem Track verarbeitet habe.
