As per its penchant for cyberdelic enigmas, Jimmy Edgar’s Ultramajic outpost is building a core of secretive producers. After closing out 2014 with a record from unknown newcomer Crystal Bandito, the label will return in 2015 with an offering from semi-anonymous beat maker Aden. The tracks on Tanz, which is the German word for "dance", are hewn from bouncing drums, vocal yelps, glittering keys, and a few functional white noise-infused breakdowns that pack a solid dose of energy and spirit. "Tanz 1 – Lieb" is a gentle intermission from the EP’s intense vitality, with warm and soft pads that lay the foundation for blunted percussion. From rigid pumpers to soothing textures, the Tanz EP contains a range of moods to fuel human bodies on the virtual dance floors of a digital future.

London DJ and producer @murder-he-wrote has been delivering his bass-fuelled, melting pot of sounds since 2014. Affiliated with the Roska Kicks & Snares label, he recently launched his own Rhythm Athletic imprint – a label and ‘high performance™ sportswear brand’ that’s served as an outlet for his own material. He follows up his heatedly-received ‘Expectations’ EP with ‘Love / Loss’, a new three-tracker that sees him diving headfirst into UK funky territory, with the release already garnering praise from the likes of Laurent Garnier and Toddla T. ‘Cuíca Riddim’, which we’re premiering below, applies pressure via the cuíca – a Brazilian friction drum – which he’s overlaid with some pitch-bent vocals for blazing cut that you’ll want to get sweaty to.
