A mash up of a remix of a great trance tune and one of my favourite songs by the killers.

However, since completing and uploading the mashup i have noticed that this mashup has been done before by a person called 'Rothma'. His version is called 'Mr Loneliness' and he uses the orignial mix of the Reeves track with more vocals, his mashup is just as good.

Since emerging in 2003, UK man Claro Intelecto has pursued the deeper side of techno, and now makes his Delsin debut with a 3 track EP entitled Second Blood, which precedes the release of his full length album on the same label in march 2012.

With a discography which includes a number of 12”s, EPs and full lengths on labels like Boomkat's own Modern Love as well as Ai Records and others, Manchester man Mark Stewart is known for dropping bomb after bomb, with these new efforts being no different. 

First up, the title track 'Second Blood' is a lazy, scuffed and romantic sounding deep dub cut that lurches from one beat to the next with a lazy smile and soft eyes. Plenty of echo and reverb have it drifting off into the distance as warm pads and rising strings add subtle tension.

Another lazy roller but this time with brighter melodic flashes, next effort 'Heart' is just as lateral, dubwise and soothing as the title track, melting your mind into a dreamy state of hypnosis before b2 'Voyeurism' lifts you out of your trance with a firmer kick drum, more cutting claps and groove that bounces a little more than it rolls. Some taught acid notes appear eventually, rounding off a cerebral, dead of night EP made as much for home listening as it is gentle Sunday afternoon comedowns. Essential stuff.

After the success of the Slam + Gary Beck (Alliances 1) release, Slam welcome friends and peers Pan-Pot to the next phase of their 'Alliances' series. Slam & Pan-Pot have shared the stage at many an occasion whether it be at Slam's Pressure or Return To Mono nights at The Arches & Sub Club respectively, or at the Mobilee Rooftop or Poolside parties, Off-Sonar. Pan-Pot have also remixed Slam's 'Room 2' & 'Lifetimes' tracks while Slam have reworked Pan-Pot's 'Face To Face' & 'Confronted' tracks. Their sounds are well matched, as are their personalities. 'Media' brings the drive, swing and melody that both pairs of producers do so well. Twisting and turning through delayed FX and doubling drums, 'Media' swells until it hits an epic bass sequence at the tracks half-way mark before dropping back to a stripped groove. When the two acts combine they are most certainly a formidable force. 'Media' is the perfect example of this.

Slam + Pan-Pot - Media (Alliances 2)

Russell Ogden better known as Akira Kayosa, has been working with Glasgow based producer and close friend Hugh Tolland since 2006, releasing material of all forms on a host of respected labels. Both being well known within trance circles for the more uplifting end of the spectrum when working together, this time the guys show their hand down the more progressive route with a slow burning emotive record which fits the bill for their debut together on the ITWT label. 

‘Small Something’ pulls down the tempo and strips back the complexities of normal trance leaving behind the raw emotion, gritty synth work with weaving arpeggiated  lead lines that makes this track tick. Pizz@dox is on hand to deliver a superbly crafted more up tempo reworking of  the original to round off this release in style.
