Cherrymoon Trax–The House Of House (Nina Kraviz Rework)

Renowned house veterans D’Julz and Jordan Fields drop two tracks each for a split release on Radio Slave’s Rekids this December.

One of the key components in Parisian electronic music, the A side sees a display of groove led cuts signature to D’Julz as ‘Shy Town’ combines sultry bass tones with mesmerising atmospherics and tranquil piano chords, making way for the crunchy drums and trippy synths of ‘In Your Soul’.

Meanwhile, from across the pond in Chicago, Jordan Fields’ raw productions begin with syncopated percussion and fuzzy notes until ‘Mformation’ concludes the package with thudding kicks and ethereal melodies.

Both artists have been commanding forces in electronic music for 25 years each making this split release very special indeed.

17. Reinier Zonneveld - Hard Gaan (Original Mix)

New York City local Alix Alvarez supplies his deep and hypnotic house cut 'No Chaser' to the first ever compilation released on Okain's freshly minted Talman Records.

After releasing strictly his own material since he launched his Talman imprint in 2015,  the Berlin-based Okain now taps a collection of his peers for 'Retro Future Chapter One'. Also found on the release are tracks by Stevn.aint.levn and Paolo Rocco, while Okain also gets in on the action with a mesmerizing house track of his own. Expect to find raw, steady beats and subtle atmospherics on this compilation, as this material is aimed directly at the dancefloor.

Sascha Dive was last spotted on Bondage-Music earlier this year with the deep hypnotic pulses of ‘Dark Night’ on ‘Bondage Games 5’. So it’s fitting he returns with ‘Detroit Sunrise’ and, as sure as day follows night, it’s every bit as deep, pulsing and hypnotic as you’d expect from the Frankfurt craftsman…
His first full EP for the Leipzig label, we open with real talk. ‘Detroit Sunrise’ warms up with broad, swinging drums, rippling textures and a crucial spoken word sample every single one of us should consider. It sets the scene for two classic Dive deep adventures as both ‘Dub Chronicles #1’ and ‘Dub Chronicles #2’ both roll out with subtlety and understatement. Layered, absorbing and endless; timeless tools made for those deep mix moments of magic.
Last but not least, we end on an upbeat. ‘Ghostdancer’ takes more of a sprightly, light-footed note with an upward-spiralling arpeggiated riff, gentle ebb and flow chords and a light peppering of cosmic flurries. Ghoulishly good. Like all things by Dive and Bondage-Music. Don’t get tied down, get tied up…
