2016 has been massive year for Swiss producer Andrea Oliva with releases on labels like Desolat and Knee Deep In Sound as well as an appearance on BBC Radio 1's Essential Mix. The icing on the cake arrives this month as he lays a splendid EP on the impressive Cuttin’ Headz imprint (the label of Bronx pair The Martinez Brothers). Joining him on the release is a man that needs little introduction, Amsterdam producer Steve Rachmad, the techno stalwart provides two edition for the release, one under his own name and one under his Sterac monikor - the home for his deep, darker tastes (Only available on the vinyl). The first of these two remixes you can hear exclusively on When We Dip today. Strap yourself in for a hypnotic acid-infused trip!

The masterful Italian duo, NiCe7 aka Nicola Daniele and Cesare Marocco, showcase their production finesse with two deep and captivating tracks for their Rebellion debut,  Real Love EP.

Prepare to be seduced by the lustful vocal hook on opener  Real Love  as they shape a bold, heavy-set roller. It’s a balancing act of production that perfectly highlights the duo’s dexterity in arrangement, who explain,  “ we’re really happy to release on Rebellion, after our last EP on Crosstown Rebels.  ‘Real Love’  is a kinda typical NiCe7 track, with a hooky vocal loop, rolling groove and a heavy bassline, with ethereal atmosphere.”  Whereas, on the flip side, “‘ To The Beat’ is quite different, with a prominent female vocal that sits amongst deeper elements, a minimal groove and a fat bassline.”

NiCe7  are a prolific production and DJ duo, with releases on a who’s who of labels such as Crosstown Rebels, Snatch!, Noir, as well their own D-FLOOR MUSIC, which they run with Leon. They are previous winners of best tech house record at the Beatport Awards for  Point  (Gruuv Records), and their inventive, dynamic productions and bountiful remixes have seen them win fans and admirers from across the world during their 10 year career.

The trendsetting Play It Say It continues to stay ahead of the curve with a new EP from Bas Ibellini, one of dance music’s hottest properties.

Ibellini has established himself with impressive sets for iconic clubs like fabric, festivals like Sonus and brands like Circoloco. The Londoner has also made a real mark with his meticulous studio sounds on the likes of Tuskegee and Crosstown Rebels, all while hosting his own night Peculiar. Pushing forwards on all fronts, he does so again here with four more well-crafted and late-night dance floor weapons.

First out of the blocks is ‘Toys Enjoy’, a superbly slick and futuristic track that melts electro and house into one fresh new style. It twists and turns on taught rhythms, with warped synths wrapping round the drums and really getting you moving. The excellent ‘Reality Check’ is a timeless house number with busy sci-fi synths and a smooth rolling groove that really gets under your skin as acid inflections colour in the airwaves.
Up next, ‘Babysit’ flips the script and offers a freaky afterparty vibe. The minimal drums and sound designs are all paired back and mind melting as they wriggle about restlessly. ‘Jammy Clothes’ closes things out with another excellently stripped back take on cerebral house music that is spaced out and synthetic, yet hugely atmospheric.

This is another club-ready EP stuff full of interesting new perspectives from the always excellent Play It Say It.

If we followed Bas Ibellini around the world over the past few years, our memories might be stained with sweaty heaving crowds, beaches in Ibiza, dancefloors in New York, after-parties in London, and festivals in Mexico. In recent years he has had the opportunity to perform at venerable night clubs including Fabric, DC10, Fuse Brussels and Output New York; alongside invitations to appear at key festivals including Sunwaves Romania and BPM in Mexico.  

A deep-rooted love for music, passed down from a musical family, has placed Bas in a fortunate position. Years of hard work, from pushing himself to become an expert turntablist as a youngster to putting on his own ‘Peculiar’ parties in East London, have laid the foundations for his growing success.  

On the production tip, Bas has taken a considered though enthusiastic tact, spending days on end toiling away in the studio.  Learning the craft inside out, he prefers to take his time to release music.  Over the last three years he has managed releases on Seth Troxler and The Martinez Brothers’ Tuskegee imprint, and Crosstown Rebels' sub-label, Rebellion. 
 
In 2016, he will continue on his upwards trajectory, with support from and collaborations with fellow artists he has befriended throughout his travels. While lining up more top level gigs (as well as the cheeky after-parties), and steadily releasing fresh new jams Bas is basically living his dream.
