Do you know the moment at the party when vocals that everyone recognizes kick in? Hands up in the air, collective screaming, true euphoria…
‘Do You Know’, the latest edit of Whitney Houston’s ultimate hit ‘How will I know’ does exactly that to any given dance floor. The mysterious artist who made this edit uses hypnotic breakbeat rhythm layered with fat stabs and arpeggiated cowbells. These elements create positive and a feel-good vibe, but if you add one of the best vocals in the history of pop music on the top, then you have an absolute dance floor weapon.
‘Do you know’ is coming out via PXU white series on September 20th in the limited vinyl-only release as an edit package. The release includes two edits of aforementioned Whitney Houston’s ‘How will I know’ and two edits of Mary J Blige’s ‘Family Affair’.

Third single ‘All A Bit Mad’ is built around the voice of Femi Koleoso, drummer of pioneering London nu jazz band @ezracollective.

Wayward said: “We feel like we’ve fully settled into making the music we should be. You don’t get a shot at a debut album twice, and we wanted to put out a sonically diverse record that is as energising as it is emotionally-evocative with atmospheric tracks to chill to, and ones with the energy of club impact. Before lockdown we’d seen Ezra Collective at The Roundhouse in London. The way that Femi addressed the crowd was more like an MC at a rave than the leader of a jazz band. The energy he created was so impressive that we had the idea to sample his voice. All A Bit Mad was the first tune we wrote during the lockdown period. Stuck in the house reminiscing about clubbing and thinking about the prospect of no live music for a considerable stretch of time was what inspired it”

The Moodswing label boss and underground UK Garage pioneer delivers three tracks with signature style and groove on his first full vinyl project since 2019.

'Know Your Name' kicks things off. Skippy drum patterns set the tone throughout, providing the bass layer for the off beat top end whilst the addition of a subtle sing-along vocal delivers the perfect balance -a head bobber for sure!

Timehri (tim-air-ree) – a Guyanese Amerindian word meaning petroglyph. Located deep in the Guyana hinterland and predating the arrival of Europeans by thousands of years, the Timehri have been used as a visual medium to communicate and symbolise cultural beliefs for millennia. West London DJ @td93-1 pays homage to his Guyanese heritage, continuing this legacy as a cultural aesthetic through music, via an alternate reality sometime in the far future.

'Amorama' is the first full-length LP offering from Parisian producer and @paradoxeclub label boss @sunareht. Sunareht is an artist exploring the boundaries of expression and emotion in an internet age; an age where now more than ever, the internet is the place where we have most of our day to day lives; interactions, relations, special moments, and experiences, even down to sharing music the way we once would have done in a club environment. This first album is an exploration of the nuances and new normalities of sharing our lives online. 

Part of a new wave of French electronic producers; Sunareht takes influence from the classic ‘French Touch’ sound of the 90’s and 00’s; blending leftfield, lo-fi electronica, and electro.
