Here is the debut EP from Manchester producers Tom Lonsboroough and Col Hamilton, known as 2 Billion Beats with the Musics Alfresco EP.


Things kick things off with the uptempo ‘The Moodymann’, a funk fuelled cut of bottom heavy laden disco house. Retro synth bass with an acidic twist, rolling house rhythms and keys create a melodic yet dancefloor orientated vibe and a slightly old school feel. 

Next up, ‘Secret Sub Disco’ journeys into more laid back disco territory with layers of melody washing over bubbling bass and relaxed rhythms to create a decidedly chilled vibe with some added in some acidic arpeggiated lines. 

Finally 2 Billion Beats deliver ‘Lunar’, a deep and delightful slice of balaeric tinged house built around bass stabs, breaks and a rolling Rhodes key loop.

Chicago DJ and producer Chrissy is set to launch his new label Cool Ranch, an outlet that will focus on the classic house of his native city.

Following releases on Classic, Freerange, Razor & Tape and La Mission, Chrissy takes a break from his duties running his label The Nite Owl Diner to launch Cool Ranch. The Smartbar resident now plans to deliver the raw essence of house on white label, limited, hand-stamped, vinyl-only releases via the new imprint.

On the inaugural release titled 'Cool Ranch 001', Chrissy delivers two originals, one of which is a slamming house track titled ‘We Ain't Goin Nowhere’. It’s a catchy disco-tinged melody, one that will undoubtedly inject life into any dancefloor.

When discussing the vision behind Cool Ranch, Chrissy revealed that it’s mainly about feel-good tracks: “This record, and the new label as a whole, are all about fun, happy-sounding party cuts. With all the negativity and too-cool-for-school posturing in the dance music scene, and the ever-darkening political climate weighing down on us all, sometimes it feels really important to have songs that sound joyous and positive and resilient, yknow?”

'Cool Ranch 001' is set for release on May 5 and also includes a remix from rising Detroit producer Pontchartrain.

This one is for people who like the real disco tools. For dudes who love the style of DJ Harvey, Prins Thomas or Todd Terje. For DJ's that want the girls to dance.
Toy Tonics lead honcho Black Loops teamed up with italo-spanish DJ Innocent Soul in his Berlin studio. Do we have to introduce Black Loops? Not really: He started his career on Toy Tonics three years ago. Meanwhile did 5 EPs on the label - including his main club hit SEX (that was one of the 50 most sold House tracks on Beatport in 2016). 
Innocent Soul is a young Italian living in Barcelona where he is a quite established kid in the nightlife scene. Vittorio Rinaldi his name. He is resident DJ at Space Music Garden project and resident for the Modular project at City Hall.
Like Black Loops he is not really innocent. At least if it comes to music. He is a huge lover and collector of disco, afro, black, raw and house music vinyl. You can hear the influences in this EP for sure. Rollin’. This EP is a bomb.
