When She's Alone

You know when you're itching for a certain someone to release new music...you're not sure when it will arrive but you're confident it'll be class. This time around, those records come from Brisbane producer Charles Murdoch. After catching the ears of the Future Classic crew many moons ago, thanks to his ever-graceful productions, he's been on a steady incline.

After bunkering down for a good half year or so, we now have the 'WTBL' EP and we're wrapped to be premiering its title tune. We've been told Murdoch invested in a new toy not too long ago, namely, a modular rack synth. This fresh piece of gear has lead him to explore an after dark avenue, or early morning one, however you look at it.

'WTBL' is a twinkling rave. Crunchy percussion and erratic synths engage in a brilliant conversation. An abrasive thing of beauty I'd call it. I once went to an illegal rave in a drainage pipe and I would have loved to have heard this there. The rest of the EP is in a similar vein, bar the opening tune 'Annoying' which is like a trip to Saturn's rings.
This latest body of work, will be out via his fellow countrymen Beats Of No Nation, who've previously pressed records for talents such as Leon Revol, Jad & The and Chord Memory Band. Charles once played in a band (Super Fun Bumper Edition) with the legends who now run B.O.N.N. It's great how things come full circle.

Purple Pill are no strangers to Asymmetric, as they remixed Adam Ten's track recently for the imprint, and they've also had releases on Sprout, Parquet and Beat Boutique, and are making a nice little name for themselves in the scene. While HRRSN's music has graced Stil Vor Talent, Click and the legendary Sonar Kollektiv. So collaborating here bring a very exciting project.

The original sees a a chunky and bouncy deep melodic techno journey, laced with those hypnotic vocals. As the tracks continues, it intensifies with its layers and melodics developing. Its a bit of a biggie!

Adrian Roman is first up on remix duties. His work on Beat Boutique and Natura Viva has been solid stuff, and he brings his skills here wonderfully. Utilising the original elements but bringing an air of restraint and sophistication to proceedings. Very cool.

Bringing the energy levels up, we have Brlee who's Bonzai and Overload recent works have seen his raise his profile. This punchy melodic driver packs a punch and saves the vocal to the main breakdown. Dirty!

Will Saul, DJ/Producer and Aus Music label head primes the 150th release for the longstanding British label with a stellar cover of the 1990 seminal techno record of the same name by Yolanda on legendary label Underground Resistance.

With the original record being one of Saul's all time favorites and UR being a constant source of inspiration it was beyond a dream to get his version fully approved by Mike Banks to celebrate the landmark anniversary.
