Big-sounding, infectious grooves and killer hooks generously sprinkled with the infamous Fitzpatrick magic over the top. CHECK! In short, this EP is everything we have come to expect from Alan over his long history with Drumcode (this is his 10th EP as a solo artist!), but still his sound remains fresh and super-charged for 2014.

As the dust finally begins to settle after the release of Pan-Pot's massive album 'The Other', it's time to unleash a collection of heavy hitting reworks from the best and brightest stars of todays techno elite. Through careful consideration and an acute attention to detail, we couldn't be more elated to confirm ten artists we know and love to contribute their unique vision to Second State's first ever remix package.

Kicking things off with a heavily twisted alteration of 'Attention' is Nicole Moudaber and it's a tangled, dark trek through dense acoustic layers of audible madness. Next up is the Hamburg duo

Extrawelt with their twist on 'Optimistic Grey' and they deliver a beautiful blend of emotion and groove they are synonymous for.

Following suit is another passionately romantic number from man of the hour, Stephan Bodzin, and his take feels like floating through a sea of clouds, resulting in a timeless classic to be a focal point in any set for years to come.

Next in line is Ray Kajioka's take on '808 Nirvana' and it's a cosmic ride, ripe with swirling atmospherics laid over big churning drums and rolling cymbals.

Following up on the second 12“ of this LP is a man who needs no introduction: Carl Cox. And in true Coxy fashion he turns 'Riot' into just that: a big room, tension building monster!

Broken Engine' is the next track to get worked over and Wigbert delivers a stunning mix of shimmering tones and growling bass resulting in a lush venture through a cosmic backdrop of flickering stars in deep space.

Joseph Capriati ensues with his vision of 'Fugitives' and he brilliantly keeps the vibe of the original yet adds his trademark big room flair to take it to another level of driving euphoria.

Enlisting the talents of Alan Fitzpatrick to remix one of the slower listening tracks on the album turned out to be magic. With his signature percussion, Fitzpatrick takes the parts and creates a dive deep into sultry smooth waters of seduction.

The first of our last two remixes, which are digital exclusives, come from Paul Ritch and he delivers a grinding rendition of 'Riot', expertly crafted for the more euphoric peak time occasions.

Last and certainly not least is a man on the rise, Kevin Knapp with his twist on his own collaboration with Pan-Pot: 'Get In'. An expertly crafted tech house jam exploding with energy and attitude perfect for any moment, day or night, indoors or out.

No matter the time or place, there is something here for everyone and we are truly fulfilled and honored to present this package of cutting edge artists to celebrate this landmark moment. We know you will enjoy!

Bei einem Einkaufsbummel durch Berlin-Friedrichshain kam Matthias und Alex alias @haste-midi die Idee zu ihrer jetzt veröffentlichten EP „Fool“. „Bei dem Einkaufsbummel haben wir in einem Second-Hand-Laden einen Longplayer von Hildegard Knef ergattert können“, erklärt Matthias, der sich der Housemusik aus den 1990er Jahren sehr verbunden fühlt. Seinen Produzentenpartner Alex ergänzt: „Für den Track „Fool“ hat sich die Idee für mich klar von den Classic-House-Nummern Ende der 1990er hergeleitet.“ (...) Amassing almost a dozen EPs and an impressive album debut all within three years, the production powerhouse that is Jordon Saxton finally hits home on Figure. While developing various sonic identities at once, his first outing for the label as Viers is a strictly no-nonsense techno affair.

This already becomes apparent on Lain, which carefully navigates with sonar bleeps and scanner sweeps through of nebula richly detailed textures. Infornography is muffled in thick murk, its metallic synths unceasingly chipping away at rocks of rumbling bass. On the flip Viers changes his game yet again, crafting a beautifully fluorescent and dubbed out loop, making RE-L pulse just as gently as it is booming. Finally Protocol’s militant groove closes things out on a tough note. Hammering kicks and cleverly twisted tribal percussion make this one a nasty surprise to drop during peak time.

No matter what distinct mood or moment Viers is trying his hand at, across this EP he effortlessly nails them all. You will be hard-pressed to find the variety and inventiveness of modern british techno expressed more aptly anywhere else than here.

Mark Greene’s “Nineteen ninety what?”: The audio equivalent of a Global Hypercolour T-shirt and a whistle on a string! 90s tropes like ravey stabs and acid lines are here in abundance, expertly woven into a fresh, contemporary techno framework. Steve Mulder dials back the mayhem slightly on the remix, with a classy, considered interpretation. “Let the Mask Slip” completes the package with moody arpeggios and pitch-dropped vocals.

Australian producer and Los Angeles transplant, Craig Williams, returns to NEST this summer with the acid-heavy new single, "EXIT".

Reaching back into the history of electronic music with the coveted Roland TB-303 sequencer, Craig Williams creates a gritty, acid techno production in "EXIT" which applies a minimalist approach while delivering a whole and abundant sound. Williams tells us about the creation of the record over email --

"Just before making this record I managed to pick up an original TB-303 so naturally the acid machine was going to find its way into the next project I worked on. For the core idea I just tried to limit myself to a couple of machines to give the record that raw feel."

Tiga is back to tell you what you’ve always needed to hear with his new single “Eye Luv U.” Co-produced by one half of Paranoid London, the new single harnesses all the pure source energy of what enlightened club-goers often describe as their favourite emotion. 

“The title came to me while I was playing a pyramid that had been converted into a multi-purpose event space,” says the Canadian DJ/Producer. "The hieroglyphics over what is now the coat check made me imagine a world in which pictures could mean words and words could mean anything. The thing about wordplay is that it’s fascinating to conceive of different realities informed by different systems of meaning, and how each reality would invariably bend to vault me to the pinnacle of all possible worlds. It’s humbling, really.”

Rising Scottish talent Jasper James darkens the tone considerably on his remix, which would not be out of place at a classic off-the-grid warehouse rave. But not so fast, because Butch’s equally great “80s Warehouse Acid Remix” also lays claim to that warehouse, challenging what it means to be “warehouse” in an age when corporations pay people to throw parties in what used to be underground settings. 

“Warehouse is a state of mind,” adds Tiga helpfully. “It’s that indescribable feeling that transports you back to the first time you read an oral history about dance culture. I read one sponsored by Mountain Dew about three years ago, and I’ve never looked back.”
