Long Island Sound’s debut album gets fresh treatment from some of the most exciting producers in electronic music. Cromby, Mor Elian, James Shinra and Benjamin Damage feature on Long Island Sound’s Signs of Space imprint. 

The tracks on Lost Connection Remixes are stunning reinterpretations of three tracks from Lost Connection, the debut LP from Irish duo Long Island Sound. For the third track, Mor Elian ups the pace and intensity of the EP with her remix of Dusk. Combining enormous low-end rumbles and syncopated percussion patterns with blissful pads and celestial choirs, Mor’s remix perfectly toes the line between tough and tender.

Hybrid sounds are offered up by Sunderland born producer Dharma on his Lone Romantic debut.  His ‘Clear Glass’ EP lands on Maceo Plex’s left of centre imprint, offering up four tracks of futuristic garage and electro-tinged sounds.

Having previously released on esteemed labels such as R&S Records, Man Power’s Me Me Me imprint and Permanent Vacation, Dharma readies a bustling EP for Lone Romantic that showcases the young producer’s deft capabilities at working through various shades and rhythms with ease.

From the shuffling beats and choppy vox of EP opener ‘Clear Glass’, to the low-slung hip hop meets IDM influences of ‘Work Over’, Dharma serves up a highly accomplished release that effortlessly traverses genres.

Dragon Newts: Part 2

Born in Sunderland, Dharma has surfaced with a formidable musical background - performing as a multi-instrumentalist in orchestras, bands, and most recently as an electronic music producer. Dharma’s distinctive, yet unique sound takes major influences from the likes of The Prodigy, Aphex Twin.

Still only in his twenties, Dharma has released on a flurry of labels, most notably, Permanent Vacation where he received support from the likes of Alan Fitzpatrick and CRI.

The start of 2022 saw Dharma release 3 EP’s over a 4 month period. The first being on Newcastle based label Ape-x where he delivered a monster 4 track EP ‘Escaping The Harddrive’ which explores the realms of ambient, house, techno, breakbeat, jungle, and beyond. 
The release received a wide range of support and received positive feedback from dance music heavyweights Daniel Avery, Skream and Erol Alkan.

Aside from his own productions, Dharma has been on the receiving end of a wide range of remix projects. Some of the remixer's names include the likes of Marc Pinol, Omri Smadar and Boy Short’s and in 2022 Dharma delivered some of his own remixes, most notably, remixing fellow north easterner Man Power on his renowned ‘Me Me Me’ label.

2023 plans to be a huge year for Dharma as he prepares for releases Me Me Me and his much anticipated debut on the dance music heavy weight R & S Records.
