Born in Marseille, but based out of London, Pegasvs is an artist many in the underground have gotten to know well over the years. We ourselves have routinely collaborated with the multifaceted producer - either imploring him to expertly craft mixes for our listeners or partnering with him to promote his own tracks and music. 

During the time we’ve known Pegasvs, the French maestro has gone onto establish his imprint Burnin’ Music Records as a dependable and timely fixture that has put out releases from artists such as Salomo, Tryezz, and Pegasvs himself. 

In their latest outing, the label has chosen to put out a single from little known producer Hotevilla, who also hails from France and occasionally operates under the moniker Kalk. Titled Until Dawn, this original kicks things off with an undeniably catchy, looped vocal that sustains itself throughout the piece - giving it an uplifting, almost anthemic feel from start to finish. Hoteville then mimics the likes of other artists such as Moon Boots, by layering on top a space-aged assortment of playful synths, funky bass and airy strings that transform Until Dawn into quite the luxurious affair fit for any rooftop soiree.

Our latest First Play is a new track from Crazylegs and Local Talk alumni, Tommy Rawson. The aptly titled ‘Piano Pleasure’ is Rawson’s contribution to a new four track EP on Red Rack’em’s label, Smugglers Inn.

Rawson uses afrobeat-inspired percussion as the foundation for the track, while filtered vocals drift atop the beat and pianos glisten in the distance like a mirage on an oppressively hot day. In the latter half of the piece, a muted acid line provides weight underneath, adding a late night suitability to the production.

Copenhagen's Dorsi Plantar makes his return to Better Listen Records following last year’s springtime favorite, 'Everlast', with his latest work titled the 'Tack Farsan' EP, which features the smooth jazz house cut 'Besitos'.

As the label describes: "'Tack Farsan' is a balanced sample-driven EP intended to milk the last of summer’s flavors for the dancefloor’s enjoyment. The top side hosts sunny disco affairs in the release’s title track, and a polished collab with label mate Sune. The logo side, on the other hand, explodes into deeper, latin ventures."

The 'Tack Farsan' EP is set for release October 12.

Premiere: Dorsi Plantar 'Besitos'

Swedish label Local Talk are purveyors of only the finest house music with a roster of artists that range from Terrence Parker to Crackazat, with tracks influenced by jazz, funk, hip hop, disco and soul.

In addition to a steady stream of new singles and EP’s, Local Talk is also known for their album releases that have received huge critical acclaim, and this latest EP is a sampler taken from the forthcoming album by OPOLOPO.

OPOLOPO has been a DJ all over the world, playing everywhere from South Africa to London and he has also built up a reputation as an exceptional producer who has released his music and remixes on influential labels such as BBE, Z Records and Defected.

This sampler features three exceptional tracks taken from the album, and blends dusty keys, analogue sounds and soulful samples. Each of them exudes a vibrant personality to give a taste of what's to come with the full release.
