Cooked up with a more melodic vibe and fusing elements of house and techno, Dense & Pika’s latest outing on Drumcode offers something different compared to their previous work. There is still that vintage feel to each of the tracks with analogue sounds and arrangements born and developed from experimental studio jams. Indeed, ‘Suki’ heavily utilizes the distinct harmonic tones of the Dave Smith Prophet 8 keyboard. While ‘Little Sun’ - A staple of D&P performances over the last three months - delivers a more classic Drumcode sound. ‘Lanky’ closes out the release with an infectious slab of wonderfully wonked-out raw funk.

Label boss Coyu has plenty on his plate with constant buzz from Suara's stellar outputs and reputation as a must-see set across the world - but what he doesn't have yet is a debut album. That won't be the case for long, though, with his debut LP on the horizon and the first taste has arrived exclusively here on ​Mixmag​. '1+1' is his lead single off the record, made in collaboration with Thomas Gandey. ​"'1+1' [is about] my girlfriend and I, my mother and I, my team and I, Suara and I, my music and I, the world and I," Coyu explains. "Because without the people you love and all that you love you are nothing. But also, it is the communion of my two great passions: techno and house music.​"

Our main goal is to keep pushing the underground scene and highlight new talent. Today is no different: the masters from Baptist are a rising voice in the electronica scene in the Netherlands and their new, long awaited album is soon due.. Until then they warm us up with this magnificent remixes EP of their single "Love Is" on the Amsterdam label Basserk. 

Precursor is no unfamilliar name around here and with his recent "Antagonist EP" he showed what he's capable of. His talent shines in this particular remix, where he completely rewrites the original slow-paced almost pop-electronica track into a dreamy techno track, ready for the dancefloor. 'For the third release on Ibiza and NYC-based Eyedyllic Music, the label has conjured up a wonderfully global ‘meeting of the minds’ between the Grammy-nominated Canadian producer, James Teej, and the up-and-coming Milan-based artist, Keira.

With After the Storm, Teej has reached into his songwriting repertoire and sang some heartfelt and sonically pleasing vocals, atop some marvelously melancholy melodies, written by Keira. Together, the unlikely creative pairing of artists have woven together a wonderful tapestry of emotion, which tells a tale of end-of-summer romance, while packing it all nicely into a wonderful electronic soundscape. 

Straddling the line between electronica and pop, After the Storm is a unique perspective into what the Eyedyllic aural landscape looks like. The name of the EP is a homage to their late friend Jan Francis, founder of the ATG graffiti crew and School Records and who was also responsible to help make Dusky's first London gigs happen at the ATG Warehouse parties and their Staunch residency at Corsica Studios.
