With the anticipated unveiling of the inaugural release on his Vivrant imprint entitled the ’Taiga’ EP, Jeremy gives the public a sneak peek into his sonic treasure chest. Filled to the brim with a seemingly infinite number of unreleased gems, his music has at last found a place to call home.

Accompanied by a graphical profile and artwork created in collaboration with multi-award winning creative studio Rebels Studios, the EP conceptually resembles a mini-album. Made up of a total of four tracks with the first and last offerings, ‘Taiga’ and ‘Falls’, taking on the roles of proverbial set opener and closer. Played for the first time in Jeremy’s Group Therapy Radio guest mix, ‘Taiga’ is dark, thumping and hypnotic, while ‘Falls’, a new never before heard creation, is soft, dreamy and uplifting.

Second and third on the EP is ‘Pinkerton’ and ‘Roots’. While vastly different, they have a common denominator in being sophisticated, sure-fire peak time weapons. ‘Roots’ is energetic and soaring, while ‘Pinkerton’, made famous by the Olander and Prydz B2B BBC Radio 1 Essential Mix from earlier this year, has an infectious, trembling trademark Olander lead and a sawtooth bass-line your ancestors will feel.

In a time when the artform of curating an EP is on life support in favour of the more chart friendly single format, the ‘Taiga’ EP restores faith. Unlike anything you’re likely to hear from anyone else, it paints a positive picture of the future of innovative dance music.

First up are frequent label contributors Hertz Collision, who kick-off in style with “Loaded”, a no-nonsense four-to-the-floor club banger, that is sure to set the tone for everything that is to follow. A challenge that is readily accepted by A Thousand Details, who’s "Apollo 12” burns as powerful as the spaceship it is named after. An otherworldly experience that is kept in overdrive by Uun and his track “Chrysalis”, delivering his signature blend of spacing pads and driving percussion, paving the way for newcomer Stratum to close off the EP in proper fashion. His proven talent as a DJ to set mood on any dance floor is perfectly transcended into his debut track “A Fraction of Time”. Sharing the same forward-facing approach to techno music, it was about time that Roman DJ and producer Adiel lands her debut EP on Stroboscopic Artefacts. Just a few months on from the drop of the label’s anniversary compilation ‘X – Ten Years of Artefacts’, featuring the broadest array of talents including Rrose, Shifted, Efdemin, Denise Rabe, Chevel, Lucy and more, the timing couldn’t be better for both her and Lucy’s mind-expanding visions to unify.

Following on from an array of 12-inches on her own imprint, including a recent joint effort with Anthony Linell, ‘If Not Now When?’ is an ode to the all-enveloping strangeness of eternal nights that cuts a path of ecstatic light in the dark. Breaking the ice, the title-track plunges us in an effervescing pool of menacing reverbs, bloopy signals and rippling synth tides on a murky tip, while its faster and sharper twin ‘At The Bottom Of The Sea’ vigorously ups the ante to ensure optimal peak time firepower.

Flip sides and here’s ‘If Not Me Who’ diving even deeper into tape-echo’ed bizarro, swashing back and forth from blunt lo-freq frenzy to liquid-like levitation. ‘ESRR’ rounds off the package on a further freaky note, merging heavily processed vocals and swampy, octave-shifting keyboard movements to form a slice of wild, cross-pollinated electronics laid upon a much enticing techno swing. The very epitome of surgically executed dance music with a fascinatingly soulful, nearly shamanic edge to it.
