Long time friend, affiliate and musical chameleon @HugoMassien debuts Outer Reach on KAIZEN. An expansive 3-tracker, combining big room breaks and bass with emotional house and wobbly 2step.

Boasting an impressive back-catalogue on XL, Tectonic and some of the biggest labels on the UK club circuit, we're super chuffed to be welcoming Hugo to the KAIZEN family.

Since shelling down KAIZEN KLUB 5 years ago at our early ‘Bussey Building’ raves, playing a stack of unreleased heaters that tore up the dancefloor, this alliance has been a longtime coming.

A1. Inexplicable
Euphoric textures and hypnotic female vocals ride a rolling 4x4 house beat. Lined with ethereal tones and an ambient interlude that crescendos into a restorative climax, this uplifting and transcendental exploration into the mind, body and soul, harnesses Massien’s ability to float between genres and realms.

A2. Outer Reach
A ‘hands-in-the-air’, feel-good breakbeat banger built for the Ravers. In a move reminiscent to some of Bicep’s biggest anthems, crackling with energy and old-skool jungle breaks that ride along warbling synths and chopped-up vocals, this explosive 130 club tool blends the rave with the ambient. A hybrid we’ve come to know and love in true Massien-fashion.

B1. Shimmer
Stripped back but chunked to the max, this 2-step wobbler thrives in the subs. Dark and dubby with a heavy and wonky bassline that shimmers throughout, this hefty B-Side is an assassin of its own. The musical equivalent of a British Bulldog looking you in the eye while salivating over a giant bone, it’s a sound tailor-made for dark spaces and big room moments.
